Threaded barrel on 22lr

I just bought a 1911 in 22lr, and it has a threaded barrel. The online retailer I bought it from emailed me to say they can’t ship it cuz it has a threaded barrel not allowed in NY. The thing is, I know multiple people who have bought other 22lr pistols with threaded barrels that they purchased online. None of them are law enforcement either. Are 22lr threaded barrels exempt or did these folks get lucky?

They got lucky. Safe act bans threaded barrels on pistols since they are an assault weapon according to nys.

No good if pistol is semi automatic and has ability to accept a detachable magazine (which I am assuming is the case if it is a 1911).

have a cap pin n welded to it if possible .. it has to go to your ffl first .. then to a gunsmith .. so technically then can send it .. what happens at your ffl /gunsmith is up to them ..

or tell them to ship with out the barrel ... and buy a replacement

The reason why is because many times manufacturers and/or the distributors website does not say anything about a threaded barrel also you cannot tell by looking at a picture if the barrel is threaded sometimes.

Called them today. They won’t even send it to my ffl for him to pin it. F them. I’ll call my ffl and have him order it.

good luck .. i know the FFL here received a AR that was not compliant .. i was there when he opened the box .. who the fk sent this to me lol ..

Quick update. I ordered another gun from them. Actually says right in the description that it has a threaded barrel whereas the last gun made no mention of one in the description. They just sent the gun out today. Threaded barrel and all. Wtf?

Cap shouldn't be larger diameter than the barrel. If it is find another cap.

They're just there to cover the threads, they don't need to be thick.

Ok, Ok, it gets past that one.

But it still doesn't "use a portion of the energy of firing to load the next round". So, maybe magazine fed, but not semiautomatic.
