Just as a guide to what I am talking about.
Does anyone set up their vehicle for the impending doom and gloom?
As of now, I think I could survive for years with what is in my truck.
Maybe that is why my gas mileage is low...
I have set up my truck for weather related emergency. but nothing for doomsday/combat related. because I don't like to keep any extra guns in my vehicle in case it gets broken into or stolen while the vehicle is left unattended. Or if I need to get the vehicle towed (break down/ accident). It would be awkward trying to get home with a AR15 if I can't get a ride from a friend/family (imo.)
(I can always grab the guns should I need to bugout.)
I keep a first aid kit, extra cloths, blanket, flashlight, rain gear, rope, knife, hatchet, tarp, tool box, portable jack in my truck. I don't keep extra bottles of water, granola bars /food in the vehicle during the summer because of the heat.
I try to keep the gear hidden/compact because I don't like to have them in the way when I make a trip to home depot or food shopping.
I need a truck for shtf. Would love an old school Land Rover or land cruiser.
As far as jump pack I have had good luck with a prior version of this. Has jumped a truck with completely dead battery.

Is it bad to keep ammo in the truck?
Will heat / cold affect it?
I ask as I do keep a small ammo can of assorted calibers in the cab. I also have a spare mag or two as well. This stemmed from a trip to the range where not everything was loaded in the vehicle as it should have been.
I'm ready for anything. I joined AAA. Home | AAA Northeast
I paid extra for towing through hell.Won't help to get you home when all hell breaks loose!
I can't really be set for extended periods seems I drive an '84 square. No room in those cabs. I keep it simple, comms and guns lol. I've been trying to find an affordable m1031 body, might even consider a m1010 ambulance body to replace the bed.
Gotta agree with @MothMan , diesel is the way to go, but don't expect the new diesels to be happy on anything but pure diesel fuel. Older diesels will drink damn near anything.
I like the Cummins that Dodge has used since the '80s, not a fan of the Fords but I know many who swear by them.I have been looking for a good deal on an older diesel. Something that I can work on over time. Nothing pretty, just solid.
Need an old deuce with a multi-fuel engineI can't really be set for extended periods seems I drive an '84 square. No room in those cabs. I keep it simple, comms and guns lol. I've been trying to find an affordable m1031 body, might even consider a m1010 ambulance body to replace the bed.

I was in the market for one before I bought the m1008. Found one I planned on buying but it sold a couple days before I could make it up there.Need an old deuce with a multi-fuel engine

I'd love an LMTV but the prices have been driven through the roof. When they first went to auction they were selling in the $5k range. Now you're lucky to get a good one for $15k.
