I don't know about the rest of the country but from what I here tell, the Rez's in NY don't care about cumo, the safe act or even the Fed's. They try to take that land from them........... well, if they still have bows, they're for recreation.

Wow. That's a hot potato. My inclination is to defer to the tribes. I'm also kind of afraid that some money hungry, corrupt tribal leader will sell tribal lands to developers of mining companies and the tribes will end up just as broke but now without any land resources whatsoever- like with the Oneida tribe outside of Syracuse.
I would like to see more of the federally and state controlled land go first.
I've got some mixed feelings on this. I hunted in the Uncompahgre National Forest a couple months back. It was an amazing area, and it was pretty much untouched. Being able to walk around on almost 1 million acres was crazy. It shows you what the wild actually is. If were were to privatize that land, lot of people would lose their opportunities to enjoy such a pristine environment. But, the Libertarian in me says that the government shouldn't be controlling the land (and part of the economy through grazing rights) like that.
