My father was a carpenter and after he retired he did the usual little odd jobs for people to make extra money and keep busy.
He was helping a guy install a new front door. He told the guy to cut a piece of trim for the door and he was going to sit on his toolbox for a minute and catch his breath.
The guy cut the board and turned to ask what to do next and my father was laying on the ground dead.
That's the way I want to go. No lingering.
And that's probably the way this fellow went. Doing what he enjoyed one minute and gone the next.

52 years old is a little strange to just die. Not unheard of, but... if the state police are immediately labeling it "no foul play suspected," my educated guess is suicide.

A Brooklyn man bothers to drive to Newburgh (likely crossing a few very serviceable bridges and coughing up tolls) under a cover story of hunting to commit suicide ...
The man reportedly had strong religious convictions that oppose suicide...
The man was not playing nice in the sandbox with some associates reknown for their aggressive business model.

My fiend dropped dead of a stroke at 34. He was healthy, ate good, ran a lot, had a six pack, and muscular. Some how he damaged an artery in his kneel and threw a blood clot. Blood clot lodged in his brain stem and was brain dead immediately. In a coma for 11 months and died of an infection.
