Any of you guys actually hunt? If anyone's noticed Turkey season is right around the corner. I have several ground blinds all set. I'm seeing birds in my pastures. Have been hearing Gobblers going off in the mornings coming down from the roost. It would be a great way to break the virus blues. I plan on spending every available morning either sitting in a blind watching the sun come up or running and gunning the whole month of May. Beats the crap out of sitting here bitching about Cuomo or how Democrats are ruining your lives. LMAO!

Ive had an adult hen hanging out around the house for 2 weeks.
She has no fear of me or my dogs. She will come right to me....within 5 feet.
Not sure what her issue is.
Her flock is around but she apparently isnt welcomed.

If you actually participated in this forum you’d know there is an active hunting and fishing thread but since you posted this in the off topic section I’ll have to ask you do you even know how to use this thread? Also news flash this is called NY Gun Forums not NY hunting forums so if that’s all you want to talk about I suggest you join a hunting forum.
Yes many of us hunt including me. Now that the hunter safety course is on line I’m hoping to get both my boys to take it. I will be out turkey hunting but not everyday like you because I still have a job. I’ll take a day or two off possibly. I just hope the drunk on top of the hill is not at my hunting property or he scares everything away. He runs a tractor and cuts down trees all night long.

Turkeys are dumber than a sack of wet mice.Last week I was walking my hounds through the farm down the road.There was a turkey trying to fly through a wire fence,it lunged into it,its head would go thru but of course its fat ass couldnt get through it.My dogs watched for a bit as it kept lunging into the fence.They took off after it and my girl Mickey got a good mouthful of tail as it tried to fly off.She ran around shaking it til it finally lost her...but left behind a lot of its tail.

Man sat out at first light and just listened with coffee in hand. A chilly 29 degrees in southern Ulster County this morning but dead still. Literally heard birds all around me sounding off. A couple within 150yds or so. Just hoping this yrs mating isn't going to start off too hot, too early and fizzle out early May.

Have to say, this whole work from home thing should be good. Turkey gun behind the door just like deer season. I work weird, long, flexible hours anyway I should be able to sit on the patio Clanchett style and just wait in the mornings.

I'd like to let that little guy (my post above) go though. He's young and I feel bad for 'im (and I am not hard up for protein). I know there are at least two other, older Tom's that come thru and to the feeder.
