Anyone know why this guy wouldn't have been protected by the Firearms Owner Protection Act? Since he was only passing through NJ, shouldn't this case have been thrown out in court?

Assuming otherwise (that they were unloaded) couldn't he just have said he was on his way to NH or ME (or something like that). To me, this still sounds like a violation of FOPA especially since they stopped him literally as he was leaving NJ. In other words, what business is it of the NJ police to care about where he was going with his firearms. NYC is out of their jurisdiction anyway.

Why wave a flag when on a clandestine mission ? I don't know the condition the firearms were being transported (and that is important) but why not just paint "screw all you cops" on a car/truck and see how far you get without being stopped for something. Forest Gump had it right....."stupid is......

I'll admit this guy seems a bit peculiar, but that doesn't seem to change the fact that this guy wasn't actually committing any crimes. The last time a check driving a truck with pro-2A inscriptions and transporting your legally owned firearms across any state is not against the law (according to FOPA).

Depends on how they are secured if in a State where a person is non permitted.

I mean really?
Who the fuck with even the most basic sense of common sense would travel from PA...passing through NJ and into NYC with a apocalypse truck full of guns on a "revenge mission"?
