Upgrades to my Glock 31 Gen 3

So a while back I got some pretty negative feedback on my first stippling attempt.

I redid my stipple job and I think it looks a lot cleaner now.

I also upgraded from the stock plastic guide rod to a Glockstore Tungstun 20 lb guide rod.

Also purchased an extended slide stop lever, flared mag well and a custom engraved slide back plate. I had already put TruGlo Tritium Fiber Optic combo sights on it previously.







I may get a complete Pyramid trigger for it at a later date.

Perhaps when I get some expendable cash I will buy the Warhog slide from DV8 tactical.

They are prone to ND due to bypassing some or all of the internal safeties (thats how they get the "better feeling trigger" )

Lot of instances online of people having the gun go off on them with that trigger in


There are a large selection of aftermarket glock triggers that maintain the safeties and give a nice trigger

Or even just doing a simple spring kit makes the oem triggers super nice

Recently picked up a Zev starter Spring kit with 3.5lb connector as well as a Lantac spring kit and 3.5lb SSR connector was going to put them in my 19. My 19 is just a range gun, it doesn’t get carried. The carry guns stay stock as far as the trigger is concerned, Any thoughts on the Zev and Lantac kits ?

Zev is solid and Lantac is a quality name as well

The Apex is really good from what I hear.

That being said, the Pyramid does not "disable some or all safeties". You can watch install videos on YouTube for direct evidence that they do not.

Lastly, it's always the dummies who tinker and toy with their Glock's that have the problems. I would recommend leaving it alone. The Glock factory trigger get's better the more you shoot (or dry fire) it. It will self polish the trigger bar and connector. You can even look up a "25 cent trigger job" if you wanted to speed up that process, but I would only recommend hand polishing and no power tools. You need to be careful not to remove material or bend anything out of spec.

I should have added HUGE fan of the overwatch triggers, I can't recommend them enough.

Guess I will leave the trigger alone then. It definitely makes sense not to mess with the trigger on your carry gun, and the 31 is my carry gun outside of NY when I travel to states that honor the Utah CCW.

Nothing wrong with swapping triggers.. quality triggers actually use OEM trigger bars just polished and a different trigger shoe.


Also nothing wrong with swapping to a defensive trigger spring kit

Apex is a solid choice (i will say personally i think the Overwatch feels better and looks better, subjective,) they are one of the main go to for aftermarket triggers not just for glock but Smith & Wesson M&P line which has an atrocious trigger out of the box. And are now even doing triggers for well damn near all guns even the supposed amazing walther PPQ trigger

also while they are interchangeable always make sure to choose a gen 3 trigger bar over a gen 4 if the option is available (most companies don't even mess with gen 4 bars and all tend to use gen 3 bars)

Leave it alone. Train more. Changing out the trigger to compensate for lack of training will not work. It might be a band aid but overall not a good solution. And it comes at the expense of decreased reliability. Change anything you want it it's a range plinker. My guns are for defense and stay stock internally.

This is an opinion and not a fact.

The main reason for changing the trigger is because this Glock 31 was an LE trade in that I purchased for an extremely good price. The triggers on LE guns are a much heavier pull.

Not unless specified like NYC police. Standard pull is 5.5 lbs. it’ll say it on the box label.

most everyone wants to lighten it up to compensate for nottraining enough and thinking it’ll make them a bullseye shot quick. You might be the one rare exception but I doubt u have that 12lb trigger in it. Check the label in the case.

Don't have the original box as it didn't come with the used gun. The shop specifically mentioned that it has a heavier than normal trigger weight because it was an LE trade in.

If i am going to spend the money for a 5.0-5.5 lb stock glock trigger I may as well spend a little more and get a nicer aftermarket trigger.

I have the agency arms trigger that was recommended to me by @MilesTeg I believe. That with a Ghost 4.5 Ranger connector. It is a night and day difference from stock. No reliability problems whatsoever. Matter of fact, I’ve never heard of a trigger giving Glock reliability issues.

I ordered the Overwatch Precision trigger and the DV8 Tactical Warhog slide today. I just wish the turnaround on the slide wasn't 6-7 weeks.

Got some goodies in for my Glock 31 Gen 3, ignore the black dots on the slide. Just covering up the serial numbers; yes I'm paranoid about that kind of shit online.

A Holosun HS507C MRDS for when I get my new slide and a Streamlight TRL-7A flex tac light.

I'm still waiting for my Overwatch Precision kit to arrive.
