State Republican Chair excuses Trump after lewd comments
One Washington state Republican leader is excusing Donald Trump after a video surfaced that recorded Trump bragging about assaulting women.
In a video shared by the Washington Post Friday, Trump is heard joking with former Access Hollywood host Billy Bush about his sexual exploits, including attempting to have sex with a married woman.
“I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it,” Trump says early in the video that was recorded in 2005. “I did try and f--- her. She was married.”
State Republican Party Chair Susan Hutchison issued a statement on Trump’s comments.
“Donald Trump’s comments in 2005 – 11 years ago were made when he was a Democrat,” Hutchison said. “The hypocrisy of Hillary Clinton to say Trump does not belong in the White House when her husband defined this behavior.”
