If you read the article it says other high risk behaviors were taken into account and the study still proves out. This includes harder more addictive drugs. Sure more people probably use weed than those drugs, but my point is that many feel it’s harmless and there are no side effects or societal impacts and there are.
I know an RN and she recently posted that she can’t go a shift without seeing people for being sick because of using too much weed. They get sick with vomiting and diarrhea from a THC build up in the body. This I’m sure plays a factor in this as well because many go directly to the er.

Can we agree that overuse of most products or substances can lead to detrimental effects on the human body. I know one person that says he has smoked most of his life (everyday ) and it has had no effect on him ... Calms his nerves he says...

The same can be said of any drug really. I smoked it as a kid sometimes but haven't touched it in 20+ years and have no desire to. You can drink too much booze, and you can smoke too much weed. THC *is* an intoxicating substance, just like alcohol is an intoxicating substance. If you have too much of an intoxicating substance you can have an adverse reaction. For the less hardcore drugs (ie. Alcohol and weed) people generally won't have issues from occasional light use, ie. a drink after work at home on Fridays. It's chronic and heavy use that causes direct health problems and public problems when heavy use is paired with something such as automobile operation.

Agree with most of the above. The issue is now big business and government got involved and they will make weed be a problem. Weed is much, much stronger than it was even a few years ago and the boutique weed can be an issue because of that. Also weed is and can be laced with things on the illegal market. I agree it’s hard to track and I question a lot of studies myself.
What I will say and it think the issue and harm comes from weed when people say it’s harmless, you can’t overdose, no o e has ever died from weed use. Dumb people think they can use and smoke as much as they want and I don’t think that’s the case these days. Some may agree and others may disagree and the proof is in the pudding and I see to s of people using it all over the place and many while driving. This is a problem and I think that’s what leads to the increase in hospitalization rate. Most people use other drugs and stay out or behind closed doors. Is weed the most dangerous drug out there? Certainly not.

When I go get my cigs I see a fair amount of senior citizens buying weed at the reservation.
It's not just the younger people at the weed counter. It doesn't really surprise me. I'm just sayin'.

I drink and enjoy alcohol. So I'm in no position to judge people who smoke weed.
Freedom can be scary. I'll choose freedom every time.
