I'm looking into getting an M1 Garand. I want one made by Springfield and I want it to be a WW2 model. Something made in the 40's, but flexible on that. I want it to have some character, but not be destroyed. Other than Gun Broker is there a good place I should look? I checked out that CMP Project site but you have to be a member of a certain club or whatever to buy from them. I would have made the drive to Ohio to their store too. Oh well.

You can join a qualifying organization and order by mail.

I'm not going to join a gun club that I'll never go to in order to spend a couple grand on a rifle from someone. If it were a click of a button it would be one thing but membership in these clubs requires safety sessions, meet and greet, working hours etc.

You can join the Garand Collector's Association for $25 a year, online, with nothing else to do.
