Nor do ammo sales need to go through an FFL. Well technically anyway, if it weren't for chicken shit sellers and illegal bulkying on the part of the state. FUAC.

I would disagree NY is up at the top. No mail order ammo, almost no MSR's allowed, very restrictive pistol permit laws. Non of the laws in the other states can trump ours. California might have us with their "approved" pistol list.

Magazine and Ammunition Shipping Restrictions by State
Alaska No ammunition or primer shipments.
California
No ammunition feeding devices over 10 rounds. No Tracer or Incendiary ammunition.
**Note, metal machine gun links are considered "feeding devices" so we cannot ship links of any quantity as they could easily be made into capacities over the limit.

- Los Angeles City No ammunition shipments.
- Marin County CCW card must be faxed / emailed (on file) for ammunition purchase.
- Oakland No rifle ammunition shipments.
- San Francisco No "prohibited" ammunition (Black Talon or similar brands).
Colorado
No ammunition feeding devices over 15 rounds.

Connecticut
For all valid ammunition and magazine purchases one of the following is required:
- A valid permit to carry a pistol or revolver
- A valid permit to sell at retail a pistol or revolver
- A valid eligibility certificate for a pistol or revolver
- A valid long gun eligibility certificate
- A valid ammunition certificate and a legal photo ID that shows date of birth and photograph.

No .50 caliber Armor Piercing or Incendiary ammo.

Hawaii No ammunition or primer shipments.
Illinois Any resident purchasing ammunition within or outside the State of Illinois must provide the seller with a copy of his or her valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card (FOID) or valid concealed carry license and either his or her Illinois driver's license or Illinois State Identification Card prior to the shipment of the ammunition. The ammunition may be shipped only to an address on either of those 2 documents.
- Aurora No ammunition feeding devices over 15 rounds (long guns only).
- Chicago No ammunition feeding devices over 15 rounds (shotgun only).
- Franklin Park No ammunition feeding devices over 16 rounds (long guns only).
- Oak Park No ammunition feeding devices over 10 rounds (long guns only).
- Riverdale
No ammunition feeding devices over 35 rounds (long guns only).

Washington D.C.
For all ammunition purchases a valid Firearms Registration Certificate is required.

No ammunition feeding devices over 10 rounds.

No .50 BMG caliber ammo. No armor piercing ammo.

Any ammo component such as cases, primers, powder or bullets is considered to be "ammunition" in Washington DC and thus requires a license as well.

I agree other states have restrictions, but what you just posted is so close to NY it's almost a wash. Why I still think NY is worse than what you liked above is ours is a state wide restriction and most of their restrictions are city or county related. If we want to go to that level how about the city of Rochester with their 5 round capacity limit.

Wow we are arguing who has their constructional right more infringed upon, we might have already lost.

NY also differs GREATLY by county. Before the SafeAct, our county was like the wild west!
I still have never heard of an unrestricted permit denial in our county, 100% of the permits given are unrestricted. Even if you ASK for a hunting/target permit, you get an unrestricted.
Also, you take your pistol home the day you buy it, just one 3 minute trip to the pp office.
Ive talked to people on this site that have to wait MONTHS to put a pistol on their RESTRICTED permits, and some cannot even get permits.
So, without the SafeAct, Chautauqua Co was not so bad.
