My 23 year old who is going for his pilots license is more qualified. I showed this to my son and he answered many of the questions correctly before Mr. Budd finished asking lol. My son was stunned.

He is a 24 year Army vet, retiring as a CSM, and has a bachelors in business admin and a masters degree in management. In 20 years he has been retired from the Army, he was CEO of several very large municipal transportation agencies, most recently the CEO of Dallas International Airport.

It is very deceiving, in that clip he appears very stupid and totally ignorant of the job requirements but then there's this " He was expelled from high school at 17, joined the military, & went on to get a Masters degree. High school dropout does not equate to ignorant. This is an extremely unfortunate interview, and does not cast him in any kind of favorable light at all.
That being said, being the CEO of an airport is hardly a qualifier in my book. CEO seats are not typically filled with the kind of people who know things… with some notable exceptions here and there they are filled with people who delegate not people who possess knowledge and the ability to act on it.

I still have no clue what is needed for this position. I have looked at some of the prior administrators of this position, many do not seem to qualified all that much either.

Well I have to agree with you there. But I still would have expected better answers.
As would I. I think. I do not know if those questions fall into what the job entails. I would think they do, but there is not a list of qualifications that I can find.

I am a licensed pilot. I own an airplane. As an owner and pilot I am required to know every single answer to the questions asked in that hearing, and a whole lot more, with precise details in many instances. Could the last two FAA Administrators answer them? Actually, no. Do I think that’s a big problem in modern government? Take a wild guess.
