I work for corporate of a big box store, but I'm a satelite in a warehouse (One of many in the network)

We are getting Rio (Spain) and pmc (South Korea) because there is nothing else to order...Mostly all I see is shotgun shells.

I did see a pallet of hornaday I just wanted to take right out to my car....again, Sigh...

I saw a pallet of Federal slugs that went right through.

But keep in mind, we supply 152+ stores...so how many stores got like 5 boxes.

Nothing like a dose of hype and an anti-2A POTUS elect (unofficial) to drive scarce ammo into forgetaboutit status!

My beloved .357Sig went up $.10 per round in a week. Should've bought some 2 weeks ago, lol. And that was for JHP, not FMJ which is just totally unavailable!

Better just grab what you can find because it isn't going to get better for a long, looooong time!

I know someone who is now applying for a pistol permit. They have to be careful with their money. They purchased a Glock 43x to have stored at their FFL until their permit eventually comes through. They were floored at how much ammunition costs. Given that they are hardly flush with cash, live fire practice will be too expensive for them to become very proficient with their defensive firearm.

I've recommended that they strongly consider an airsoft pistol and/or laser pistol to practice first-shot sight alignment and drawing technique.

As a supplement to live fire (not a replacement) those are good suggestions. They will let them become much more proficient with a fixed ammo budget.

You could also recommend something with cheaper ammo, like a .22 version.

Also, airsoft is good, but a plain old BB gun works too.

and check out there other manufacture brands .. i got there glock19 and beretta 92 full auto too .. look , feel , weight is spot on .. the G19 is not a blowback like the 92.. the M92 you can also do a takedown and remove the slide off the frame ..

I don't see how all of this panic buying, hoarding and self inflicted shortages benefits shooting community. It hinders shooting activities that people enjoy. No reason to celebrate.
No help in defending the 2nd amendment, just doom and gloom scare tactics that fuck us up even further.

Ive been doing alot of this as its convenient and a good cost savings.

This is my prediction:

1. Biden will become president, senate will remain R.
2. COVID vaccine will be effective (sounds like it already is) and distributed to at least 50% of US pop by end of '21.
3. Life will go back to normal, federal gov't will be status quo for two years and nothing will change in the way of firearms.
4. All the new gun owners that freaked out and bought guns/ammo will eventually sell them at a loss and the shortage will cease by end of '21.

1. Not quite established as of yet and they're trying hard to flip that Senate!!!

2. Vaccination for all other than essentials will be SLOW... By design or purpose! Power corrupts and there are those who will be unwilling to release their newly seized powers taken in the name of "SAFETY"

3. Well this is certainly an optimistic outlook as the assumed incoming administration has already shown signs of attacking 2A rights! Guess is he will use EO's as the last 2 presidents have to wreak havoc! If they take the Senate, it will be all hands on deck!

4. A big assumption, and maybe for a small percentage, I agree. But there will be many who will keep them on hand if even buried in the closet somewhere. Ammo will take time until stocks are replenished and that won't happen overnight. And a big "IF"... If Trump concedes, and also announces that he will be running in 2024, you can bet your house that this will continue for the foreseeable future! They'll be demonstrating for 4 years how he should be impeached if elected again, should stand trial for his Presidency, should renounce his affluence and crawl on hands and knees begging forgiveness!

My predictions are a bit more pessimistic.

With the lockdowns decimating the economy and the presses running overtime printing "stimulus money" we have created a massive inflation bomb.

The effects of that haven't hit yet, but they are inevitable.

I think we were going to be in for a rough ride with Trump in office from what we've already done with that. Biden is going to double down on both and we'll be lucky to avoid a financial collapse.

I shudder to think what the modern Democrat party's response to a simultaneous massive inflation and a major depression event would be.

These guys have gone full totalitarian over a virus that gave us a couple % increase in the background mortality rate. Imagine what they will do over a real disaster.
