It's not like it was turkey being attacked. At the very latest, when the UK was being bombed the USA should have been there full-on.
During the 1930's. Hitler was popular with many in this country, including some prominent Americans. He was looked at as the solution for world's problems. Some hold that view still, heard it many times. German-Americans are the biggest ethnic group in the U.S. Many people blamed Jews and communists for trying to drag us into war. If Hitler didn't declare a war on us, I doubt we would do it.

Up until two weeks ago, I would bet if Cuba or the Cubans were brought into a conversations with friends and family, no one would have cared.

People are tired of the misery and decay of the communism and living in the past w/o prospect for progress and a better life.
What is funny is the lack of official support from the 1st world nations when, obviously, human rights do not mean shit in cuba.

It is almost as large as the trail of ones risking their lives to get here.
You can try to pretend people are better off there than here, but the bodies suggest otherwise.
