Forget about 2 nights in DC. Stay in VA, just outside of DC. It's way more 2A friendly and you can still get to the 'tourist stuff' fairly easily and not have to worry as much.

Not a rumor. They identify them in colleges across the US. This has been going on since the 1970's for political activists and anyone they may want to keep an eye on.
