I'm waiting for the Four Boxes review, but a preliminary read sounds like what the S.C. upheld was that firearm kits do fall under the GCA and ATF's purview.
The question was never "are these bullshit rules un-Constitutional", but rather, "are these bullshit rules enforceable under the GCA".
This is why you need to ask the right questions when you present to the S.C.

Though this certainly showed which Justices are willing to bend over backward and build a word-salad narrative to justify just about anything. Including Goresuck's comment about AR-15s being declared "machine guns" as invalid because "the ATF has stated numerous times they have no intention of doing that".
Yeah, I feel better already.

We still need a lawsuit that charges the NFA, GCA, ATF, etc., are ALL un-Constitutional...and, of course, we need the S.C. to actually do their damned jobs and hear the case.

Little by little, inch by inch, they are trying to close the doors that would allow the lawful restoration of our Rights.
They should read a history book.

I will have to read the decision to get the actual nuances, but in the meantime I am torn whether I should hit "cycle start" button on my CNC mill or press the "start print" button on my printer.

Can anyone clarify in the meantime this was directed at the buy build shoot kits or a piece of receiver shaped metal or plastic that cannot fire a projectile?

Very narrow ruling. This isn't as bad for us as you might think. Basically it said that build kits COULD be so easy to make so as to consider them guns. Also, it left open the idea that the frame and receiver rule could be changed and clarified.

From what I read it was the all-in-one buy build kits but also 3-D printed guns we’re specifically mentioned by Gorsuch.

It may be the All-in-One Kits... But the Progressive Left interpretation will be ALL PARTS... NY will begin sending letters to suppliers and vendors, etc., and maliciously intimidate out of state businesses to comply! Then the State will encourage Credit Card vendors to refuse to process purchases for the same, etc., etc., etc... Blah Blah Blah...

Question is, if the PARTS are legal, then why is a collection of parts not... It's an absurd argument!

Well, I wonder if it is ok to sell a box of pens then that is used when voting! That the pens should be obtained individually, not as a collective! As a matter of fact, the ink cartridges and pen shells should not be allowed to be sold assembled...

What State(s) require paperwork? Are you referring to home built pistols? Because Rifles do NOT require paperwork in many jurisdictions, nor does the sale of such! Let alone "Private" sales...

Anyways,

Murky area is when a person would actively engaged in the manufacture for the purpose of business, or sales, resales. And that's an entire different spectrum of the argument.

You want to lathe, machine, CNC parts, rifle your own barrel, make your own furniture and assemble a functional firearm for your own personal use without the intent to sell or transfer... I would love to see any jurisdiction fight that, they'd lose, badly!

So, here is something wierd. Polymer 80 shut down last year. Yet, strangely, there now appears to be a functioning website that comes up in the top of a Google search for Polymer 80, at polymer80.us.com - WTF is THAT??? And who the Hell is behind it, - the ATF? I believe their old site was polymer80.com, - which now shows as blank. The site polymer80.us.com looks like a real site, but clearly it cannot be legit. And even more bizarre is that the website is advertising “Glock switches“ for sale!!!

On a separate note, now that the Vanderstok decision is out, it raises a question as to if those unserialized polymer frames will make a comeback as something less than an 80 percent frame, perhaps 75%, or 50%, as the decision basically left it a bit open, - if the frame required more extensive work. The decision stated that if an unserialized “kit” included all of the parts needed to build it, and required such a small amount of work to finish the frame that it could be done in an hour or less, then that would be prohibited.

To me, that indicates that these will make a comeback as frames requiring more work, and possibly the use of more specialized tools than just a Dremel, a drill, and 30 minutes of your time to build. Time will tell I guess.
