Trump’s Latest Order Could Keep You Out Of Prison For Crimes You Didn’t Even Know You Committed​

On May 9, 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order titled “Fighting Overcriminalization in Federal Regulations,” addressing one of the most insidious threats to American liberty: the unchecked expansion of criminal penalties through regulatory sprawl. For decades, this trend has eroded the separation of powers, undermined due process, and transformed the federal legal system into a maze where ordinary Americans risk criminal liability for unknowable infractions.
While largely ignored by the corporate press, civil liberties advocates should see this order as a long-overdue corrective. It tackles the explosion of hidden criminal penalties, reaffirms the necessity of criminal intent, and forces long-overdue accountability onto the administrative state.


The order accomplishes two key reforms. First, it limits criminal enforcement to cases in which a person knowingly violates a regulation, discouraging the use of “strict liability,” which bypasses the traditional requirement of criminal intent. Second, it compels federal agencies to publicly identify every regulation they enforce with criminal penalties, along with the statutory authority and mental state required for conviction. A 2022 algorithmic study estimated that the U.S. Code alone contains more than 5,000 federal crimes, and when regulatory offenses are included, the number may reach into the hundreds of thousands. Regulation, Policy, and whatnot are NOT LAW! Let alone when they contain punitive action with fines and even potential loss of liberty when not prescribed by Congress!..

The Chevron Ruling neutered these acronym agencies and is as it should be!

Problem is now Congress needs to get to work and act, replace these agencies ridiculous overzealousness with codification of those so called regulations and or policies and what level of lawful action am agency may take. THAT is how this is supposed to work! It's wishful thinking though to think that will happen!

Not quite.................original Chevron ruling delegated almost unrestricted powers from Congress to the Agencies....................some recent rulings have curtailed it a bit, but Agencies still issue rules and regs.............

And don't even try to convince me that Alec Baldwin did not simply out and out murder Ukrainian Cinematographer Anatoliivna Hutchins.

Let alone my ongoing rage when the media refers to the weapon as a "Prop Gun". Which it obviously wasn't. It was a real gun, ok? To me it's obvious that this term was tested in a focus group and your average person was accepting of "Prop Gun", whereas hearing just "GUN" upset them.

But ... why? Did Alec just want to feel what was it was like to kill? Or did his documented tendency to become enraged at even minor matters surface that day? Though obviously he did make some premedicated effort to acquire genuine cartridges.

Or was it some twisted scenario that was tied to her work as a Ukranian. Did the Deep State orchestrate this?

Or .... Baldwin wanted a gritty, realistic film. With lots of shooting. But like many people, wondered what it looked like when someone was shot with a vintage revolver. He knew it was no old time John Wayne movie: "You got me, pardner". He may not have intended her to die. Oh, he knew she might. But he wanted to see her reaction. Her body jolt. Her face twist with pain. Her screams, her grunts. How her blood exited. If he were lucky, even an organ might escape her skin.

Sounds soulless, doesn't it? But would you put it past him? I wouldn't.

In fact, it's the only explanation that makes perfect sense.
