Hochul: We’ll Lose Money Under GOP Bill, ‘Don’t Want to Go’ to Cutting Services for Migrants​

During an interview with Telemundo 47 on Friday, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) argued that the state is going to lose money under the Republican tax and spending bill and people will lose health care and responded to if she’ll have to cut services to some immigrants by saying, “I don’t want to go there.” And “This is something we have to look at very seriously for how we can not leave these people without essential care.”
Hochul said that “no state will be able to make up those kind of cuts. We just don’t have enough money. And so people are going to be losing their health care, they’re going to be losing care that we provide for members of the undocumented community. I signed into law that we would take care of people over age 65 and people that have a new baby, moms for the first year, because I thought it was the right thing to do to take care of members of our undocumented community as well. They cut all of that money. They cut any assistance that we can provide for them, but also families that have been here, and especially people in nursing homes, that’s going to be hard. Most of the money for Medicaid is spent in nursing homes, taking care of our senior citizens who you can’t take care of at home anymore. So this is the real impact of this.”

I know this isn't a popular opinion but I would like to see the Republicans in the Senate remove the SALT (State And Local Tax) deduction from the bill. Stop Blue states from raising taxes to support free stuff for votes by allowing all raises to be Federal deducted. I'll take the hit if it means exposing the State ridiculous spending practices. :beer:

If I already pay for my own Healthcare costs, then why would I lose that?

These fukkin dummycrats talk about health care like it's something that no one has access to unless your on the state tit.
By FEDERAL law, no Healthcare facility can with hold services regardless of ability to pay.

With the State of NY in perpetual RED or Deficit Spending having the inability to balance it's books, services most absolutely should be looked at for cuts! Especially those services being rendered to those who are non-contributory to the States funds! Citizens, the elderly and Veterans at least being last on the list to suffer cuts!!!

Why is it do difficult to understand!?

Problem in NYS is these mental misfit politicians believing once elected, it's their destiny to reshape the world in THEIR image, and forget entirely it's their Duty to Represent their Constituents!!! Not THEIR Ego!

Wait you think this will stop them from raising taxes? You know the SALT is off the books right now and my taxes have gone up every year.

More accountability to their middle class and rich supporters. Who do you think is fleeing NY now, the poor? Everyone has their breaking point. Taking away as much as a 40K federal tax deduction will go a long way to getting centrists Democrats who aren't hell bent of bankruptcy and full on socialism into Albany. Yeah I do believe that it will at the very least, shake up their primaries and remove some far leftists.

Oh NY certainly did... But they still went spending like drunk sailors!

They have no qualms spending YOUR monies, despite people and businesses leaving in droves...

NY isn't California, a State that generates almost as much money it receives. NY is a different animal although it loves to compete on the Progressive Stage with the other coast!

Once NY announced it was doubling down on sanctuary status for criminal migrants State Resident Citizens should have Tax Revolted. Myself included... But I'm unable to do that now. Hindsight is 20/20¡

It's all good, except NY that is rotting before our eyes! What a wonderful place, when considering the land and most people's. But the politics is the virus that's killing it!
