These are not counterfeit chips. They are not part of the motherboard design. These were added by the factory at the time of manufacture.

Those were supermicro motherboards assembled in China.
Yeah, we agree there. That's what I meant by added by the manufacturer. Added out of submitted design by the company actually putting the parts on the circuit board, ie. the manufacturer of the board.
