I would hope so too, but this being New York (I know the incident was in Mass. just gaming a scenario here) I would think a good guy interjecting himself into such an incident would not be prosecuted for offing the bastard...some will run for cover, others to the sound.

Yeah, officials aren't mentioning an armed citizen, only that the shooter was "stopped by a state trooper".
From a pal that says he knows this Marine... He says it is 100% accurate.
I have no reason to doubt what this guy told me.
Apparently, this Good guy Marine asked, nearly pleaded with officials to keep him out of the story.
