I think the PMags are good, but I've noticed my aluminum mag seems to feed more smoothly. I wonder if it makes a difference in the long term.

You need a NY pistol permit to rent pistols. They rent some pre-safe act rifles.

Also you may want to think about getting your pistol permit application in soon if you can. Some counties take frikin' forever to process it.

When I look for a carry gun in the future, it'll probably be an FNSc or something similar, maybe a Glock 43. But for my uses now, heavy and large aren't downsides. I don't plan on carrying this one.

Ordered the Beretta 92A1 online today!

Definitely going to put a "D" spring in it. I'm actually looking at grips online now. I'm thinking of some that are slightly thinner, but maybe not as thin as the Extra Thin WC ones. Probably one of the subconscious reasons I went with the Beretta is because of all the mods I can do to it, lol!

I tried the FNX. It was nice, but I didn't like the safety position so the FNS made the list instead. The Beretta trigger is nicer than the FNX also, IIRC. Thanks for the vote!

Lol, it's definitely a cool gun. I think I eliminated that one because I couldn't reach the mag and slide release as well as on other pistols.

I've shot my friend's XD mod.2 5" a bunch. It seems like a good gun and shoots nice enough, but it doesn't thrill me. There are some things I would change about it.

The XDs are nice, not my favorite though. I've shot quite a bit of my friend's XD 5".

That's kind of my point. Sounds like a wash between em all.

I guess the question is, what does a Glock do that other polymer pistols don't? On a side note, the PPQ has a noticeably better trigger. I'd say pick the one that fits you the best or that you shoot the best. But I'm also not exactly an expert, lol.

Good article, I held one in the store, I wasn't loving the grip. But I really like the FNS grip, which is strange since the 509 is based off of it.

That may be a factor, but this ammo also shoots noticeably better for me than other boat tail bullets I've tried. My barrel just seems to like this specific bullet.

Sweet guns! It's Australian Outback .223. They use 55 gr Sierra Blitzking bullets with their proprietary powder. My AR is 1:7 twist and likes this load the best (out of what I've tried) for whatever reason, probably because Sierra makes good bullets.

If you're interested in maximizing the accuracy, test as many different brands/types of ammo as you can. I was originally thinking of replacing the barrel on my budget AR until I found a type of ammo that will shoot 1 MOA consistently out of it. I think that's really good considering what I paid...

I've heard very mixed things about carbon vs. stainless. A lot of people say the brand is the important thing and the material is secondary.

Yeah, the trigger guard would pretty much be the only thing I'd change. The grip seems good if he likes the feel, Magpul makes good grips.

Right, it's definitely not rare. I've had mine slam fire like 3 times in a few years of ownership (always just a double fire). It doesn't bother me though, I think I'm going to stick with the original for originality's sake.

50 yards is pretty standard, but that's the beauty of it, you can sight it in for whatever and look at a drop chart online to know your bullet path.

So I got the Magpul K2+. I like it much better than the Bravo Co. one, just based on the shape. There's a bit of a hump on the back, below where the pocket for your hand web is, which isn't ideal but I think I can get over that. Good enough for me.

I've already made my point on this. I'm saying reliability (at least in theory, I haven't tested it) would be increased since you're slowing cyclic time which gives the mag more time to present a new round, and you're adding more mass that is helping slam the bolt into the correct lock position...

Race guns are different, those guys want low recoil AND fast cyclic times for pure speed.
