That’s great news. Speaking of Lakers, my buddy and I went out on Kensico reservoir the other day for a couple hours. Trolling lead-core line & Flutter spoons. Only got one laker, but it was a rare calm day on Kensico, so I’ll take that as a win.
Can’t speak from experience, cause mines still in the box, unused. But I watched many YouTube videos and read a lot of reviews, and for the money these things look to be pretty impressive.
Just my .02 cents, but if youre gonna get into PCP airguns, I would not waste time and money with anything rated for CO2. Especially if you have a 25 cal gun, that goes trough a lot more air than a 177 or 22. I could be wrong, but most CO2 tanks (big and small) were rated to only 3000psi. Go...
$230 w/free shipping. Service parts are all over the place. It's about 14" x 16". Tiny. These are all the rage now, in the PCP world. No Scuba or SCBA/Scott bottles. (Although it will fill one in under half hour.). Fill the rife/pistol directly from this tiny compressor. I got one for...
Helping my 90 year old Dad sell off some stuff he no longer uses. Beleive he bought this new way back when. Penn Senator, conventional reel, 6/0 size, and about 4" diameter. Weapon of choice for trolling/trout, or stripers and Bluefish. Never abused, and ready to go. Normal wear here and...
Just looked...(point of reference)...Steel cased Wolf .223 is going for a little over $200 per 500 rds on Gunbroker (completed auctions). Plus $20 shipping.
For what its worth, the conversion kits slides are all aluminum and built very well, and come with adjustable sights already on them. I shoot Bianchi plates at my local club and its about perfect for that. Lotta fun.
Can't help with the Glock 44, but I will add that I run a Adv. Arms .22 conversion kit on my Gen 3 G17 and I love it. Installs in like 10 seconds. Comes with two mags, adjustable sights and a hard carrying case. Digests just about any 22 LR I can find.
Mildots work great on hunting air rifles. I have a 25 cal PCP that routinely whacks pigeons and starlings at 100 yards without much difficulty. This is where the mildot reticle shines. Sighted in for a 40yard zero, I know I need to go up 2.5 dots @ 100. Also helps doping the wind. Have you...
Yes thats pretty neat. Ingenious, actually...Only possible thing negative I see (aside from 2-hand deployment and retraction)..at first glance is when in the open/locked position, and grasping it normally, it looks like one slip forward and the underside of the index finger will slide right...
Great! Now you'll have a never ending supply. I think the one in the above pics is like 3 or 4 years old at least. New layer of duct tape now and then to cover pellet holes. Gotta be a zillion pellets in there.
Here's my backstop. (Actually its still on the original mulch, which looks brand new, but the box is really banged up from use, and I gotta make a new one...) It's a Kitty litter box, w/carry handle, filled with rubber mulch from Home Depot. Screwed a clamp on it to hold targets. Google...
Another attribute of the UTG scopes is that they focus down to like 3 or 5 yards. I’ve had some issues with some scopes on my air guns, where that’s an issue. Not a dealbreaker, just very annoying. For the money, you can’t beat a UTG bug buster. They show up used on eBay for like 75 bucks.
Could very well be. I also read that scope reticle failure was due to the reticle ring only being locked into place with one locking ring, and not properly "sandwiched " between two locking rings and factory tightened properly. Who knows...maybe I just got lucky. You can really tame the shot...
I own several R9's and an R10, some other springers, too.. Thousands of pellets through them and never ruined a scope. Even the cheapies. To Mosinitis' point , this "ruining" scopes business was probably a thing back with the older 3/4" tubed Crosman & Daisy air rifle scopes, or glued...
Pretty cool how these are coming out from MW. Haven't read up on these so forgive my ignorance..Where the original parts replaced at a small unit level? With that rear sight, you'd think the armorer would have given it the full parts upgrade. My CMP Winchester from the first run they did...
Great article. Thanks for posting. I have to dig out my red Duff book, but I think this problem was mitigated by late 1940/early 1941. I have a Dec 1941 M1 (low 400k serial range) and the tooling had been changed by then. No sign of the nub repair on my rifle.
The black thumbhole-stocked rifle , sitting two above the AR is a Gamo break barrel pellet rifle. Check the position of the zip-tie. Right where the barrel breaks. Probably the deadly .177 caliber... Pheww. I'm sure glad that now it wont fall into the wrong hands...now I can sleep.
I have the 3x12 version ,( used, off EBay,) of the ATN and it was flawless. Came with the most updated software, and I have some awesome videos from it. For me, this type of NV does way more than I needed it to do. (Wind speed, rangerfinder, gps, saved multiple zeros, etc). Just shot rats at...
Tried and true Bushnell Banner 3x9 scope. Well used, but tracks straight and glass is clear as a camera. Duplex Reticle is tight and sharp. Missing rubber eye ring, but doesn't effect function. Throw an oring on there and your GTG. Scope is gloss, and tube is in great shape with no dents...
Cleaning out my fishing gear and these are either duplicates, or no longer needed. FYI, the plugs with no hooks on them are teasers. When salt water fly fishing you'd throw one of these out, topwater, and provoke a strike, then use the fly. Anyway, they're just regular lures with the hooks...
Another big plus for the Glock is the widespread availability of 22 conversion kits. These days I throw my AA conversion kit on my G17 and have a ball shooting steel plates at the range. Comes with adjustable sights, and loading tool. Might take 15 seconds to install it.
Bought a new G17 a few years ago and no regrets. Eats everything I feed it. Opted for a GEN 3 due to the finger grooves, parts availability and track record. Finger grooves on my GEN 3 G19 need to be tweaked a bit (trigger guard mod helped greatly) but the G 17 fits me perfectly. Looking...
Palmetto has been not selling lowers to us for about a year now. After my last order from them, and me finding out their new policy, I wrote them a nasty-gram, basically telling them they should be ashamed they caved in and are just fueling anti 2A behavior, while other companies promote...
Tried the zip tie trick..worked for a while....had to worry about breaking them and them slipping, etc..it is a cool trick, just not for me. With the wave feature, just tilt the knife forward a bit and take it out still discretely folded. Wave only works when knife is bottomed out in your...
Or...you can cut a "wave" into almost any knife with a cut-off grinder..., Did it to my old saber Endura, and while I was unsure at first, I have grown to actually love this feature. Exits your pocket open, with no worries about finding a button or flipper. Steel Will makes a great product...
S&W fan, I'll take those B-Square utility rings, if you still have them, please.. and will offer up this new kitchen/steak knife. Was a gift, and we never used it.
Thanks Phaux
Kinda what I thought. Only thing stopping me is the flat grind blade. I’m a fan of the old-school saber grind, like the old enduras. But That’s just personal preference, and small potata’s
SOLD.
Parting out a sporterized deer rifle and here's the action and bolt. NOT a recovered drill rifle. Remington 1903 action , serial# 3206668, with pinprick pitting on the outside, but internally is fine. Rails, threads and camming surfaces are perfect. Drilled and tapped for a standard...
Kev74 is onto something. Sounds like the cylinder notches were either machined incorrectly or have worn. It’s not so much the depth of the notches, it’s the edges must remain sharp. If they’re rounded off it’s a problem. I believe in the 1990s, Smith and Wesson offered an enhanced package on...
I was in sell-mode and had a couple of things I brought in to sell, so didnt really scrutinize prices. Guy had a table full of powder that was reasonable, and I should have bought a few pounds now that I think about it. He had a good selection and sold a lot of it.
Outta stock when I checked. My last deal I did with them I included a nasty-gram about stopping the sales of lowers to NY state. Told them it was still %100 legal to own them, and it was companies like them that not only add to our rights being infringed upon, but makes it easier for other...
Thanks guys. I need one for a bunch of projects, including framing an outbuilding next year, so want to replace the one I've had forever. It really grenaded and is in bad shape. I really appreciate the generous loan offers , but would rather buy one outright.
