Which reminds me, it’s also a heck of a walk to any area hotels. Here for work? Walking back to his hotel? Come on, we all know why a 30 year old from Baltimore is walking around the greater Binghamton area toting a 9mm.
I think that many of the ones we might identify as good died following the Revolutionary War. I’m probably not the only one who thinks in many respects the political sphere has been rolling downhill since, and picked up a huge amount of momentum following FDR.
I think it’s got more chance of working there than here. Not that I think it’ll actually go anywhere there either… Oregon isn’t going to let go of a red cent of tax revenue.
300 block of Main St is downtown JC. Post office is 307, numbers increment westward. Less than a quarter mile from the police station, for what it’s worth.
Money laundering. How to get dirty money to politicians… give them a lucrative advance on a book only the most die hard drooling fans of his will buy anyway. It’s a scam all the way down.
Im not going to buy that a scan of facial and eye movements correlates in any useful way to depression. More likely, if you say that and then ask people to look at the scanner, then ask how they feel, you’ll get a large number of responses like “Well, I have been feeling a bit down lately”...
I’d vote for him. Unfortunately, he hasn’t got the proverbial snowball’s chance. I’m fully expecting FUAC’s legions of illegals will happily cast their votes as many times as they can, and in as many different locales.
My i3 has an electric motor spooling sound on accel and decel, that is quite distinctive and definitely not silent. The kids call it the tie fighter. Even so, it’s super quiet inside.
I went electric (mostly, it’s a BMW i3 with range extender) because I needed to replace my old car and for my usage pattern it fit and it’s cheaper than gas at current nyseg rates. A lot cheaper. Also on a bit of a car nerd note, it’s a rear engine carbon fiber bodied go kart and is a hoot to...
Planned destructive events to goad people into using deadly force to protect themselves, followed by crucifying said people, then the media blitz of “Guns bad. Turn them in before we find them”. They’ll likely count on most folks having too much at stake to risk being arrested for possession...
I would postulate that the FISA court is an illegitimate rubber stamp whose sole purpose is to ratify the illegal surveillance of American citizens. Ergo, it is compromised by virtue of its very existence and no amount of staffing changes or other actions will ever render it a legitimate authority.
In the Southern Tier we are seeing a lot of downstate and NJ folks buying up properties at asking price with very short times on market. Folks who can are getting out. My brother in law is a contractor and he’s booked until October. Lots of new homeowners.
It’s the symbolism that counts. The dilution alone would prevent anyone even noticing. I would be highly amused to tell an acquaintance in NYC that I pissed in their drinking water.
That would require it to actually contain something. She’s pretty near the top of my “most abjectly stupid people I’ve ever heard speak” list. Walking talking vegetable, and that’s an insult to flora everywhere.
I have my doubts that she could hold her own against a 14-16 year old assailant of the same gender. Never seen her in person but she doesn’t strike me as particularly robust.
If I was your UPS driver I’d be a touch more discreet where I placed that. Everyone knows what’s in those boxes. That’s a big payday for a porch pirate given ammo prices lately.
That is indeed what I was responding to. I have met a not insignificant number of people who do believe in a James Bond style “license to kill”, and reacted accordingly.
A police officer has the legal authority to escalate following use of force protocols. I don’t think anyone here is arguing that point necessarily. My objection is more to the flat statement that a police officer has the legal authority to kill you. That statement on its own is not correct...
Your original statement was “has the legal authority to take your life”. This is an entirely different phrase than “use whatever force is necessary to effect an arrest”.
I’m not arguing the latter phrase. I’m arguing the former, and I reiterate my position that a police officer does not have...
No, no, no, a thousand times no. Where did this godforsaken mindset come from? A civilian law enforcement officer does not have any more authority to take your life than I do. They are tasked with keeping the peace, they are provided with means and training to respond with appropriate force...
I’ve been asked for my keys in a traffic stop before. Politely declined and the officer didn’t press it. Out of courtesy I did remove them from the ignition and set them on the dash though.
My thought was gap in training/muscle memory plus similar shape/form factor plus extreme stress. I’m not going to accuse the cop of doing it intentionally, based on my perspective and extremely limited knowledge.
This unfortunate incident brings up another point for me, and I’d really appreciate some LEO context if anyone wants.
How is it that one could deploy a firearm when intending to deploy a taser? I have observed many officers carrying a taser in the same fashion as a firearm, and I think that...
There aren’t many places down there it’ll be forced upon... too many high ticket donors. Well, in eastern Suffolk anyway. They’ll save that honor for the cozy little suburbs in red counties.
It’s not only delivery but supply and demand. There are fewer residential fuel oil customers due to the increase of natural gas hookups. Also, many are rural, which costs more to deliver, in terms of truck utilization and driver hours.
Careful, you’ll draw out the revenuers. If this stuff is taxed anywhere near tobacco, private growers are going to be getting a lot of attention both from users and the tax man alike.
Soon the only people left in NYC will be the middle class that thinks they can’t afford to leave, the lower income folks who actually can’t, and the welfare leeches who won’t because everything is provided for them.
I’m taking the ferry to Eastern Suffolk to visit my folks now. Fuck driving...
Oh, the pump taxes will only go up. They are never, and I mean never, going away. If you ever want to see how seriously pump taxes are taken, just put off highway diesel in your commercial vehicle. They don’t pick on gas powered vehicles because getting off highway gasoline isn’t really a thing.
