yup that’s a 1903 pocket gamer less finished in nickel or chrome. Running the serial number thru colts website it’s either a 32acp 1903 that was made in 1921.

With 1911’s you can do that as they have locking lugs and recoil spring plus hammer spring. With a gun like an M&P or a Glock they only have a recoil springs and no locking lugs and no hammer springs. Thus if you mess with the recoil spring you run the risk of the slide opening before it should...
