Things will continue to get much more difficult for those still working. The summer is soon to be here. The hot weather always brings on more stress, fighting, drugs etc.
I’ve seen adds from out of state calling for NY corrections officers to join their team
With just as many from various sheriff’s corrections around NYS

Any worker who continued to participate in the...
Things are much worse now than ever, when the strike started approximately 16k officers were working, now the numbers are reported at 10k
The recruitment of new officers was very poor before the strike.
Now what is the plan to replace the 6k officers that resigned, retired and now fired...

While the officers with enough time (25 years) are retiring daily.
The horrendous working conditions are being made public for the first time in years.
Most of the facilitys are running on a modified schedule, instead of the normal 3 Shifts of 8 hours
The facility is running on 2 shifts of 12 hours
The civilians are helping making food, picking up trash, etc.

Just so everyone understands, for each day the officers are on strike, they are loosing 2 day’s pay
Not to mention the fines that will be imposed.
Along with possible termination.
