It gets bigger. I remember being at a gun show shortly before the Safe Act. There was a vendor selling pre-ban 20 round AR mags. The customer was asking about their legality and the vendor explained that they were legal under the 'pre-ban' rule. He then said something like 'they're never...
I suspect the BEST that could come out of this is that the states can't ban firearms like AR's, but they can restrict 'dangerous' features like a pistol grip or the widely feared bayonet lug.
I think we will end up exactly where we are today, or with even more restrictions. I have zero...
Lee has said he is allowed to vote in Texas even though he lives in Chicago.
“Being registered in a city and living in a city aren’t the two same things,” Lee told the Tribune in his interview last week. “You don’t have to be registered to vote to live in a city. And on May 15, (2023,) I had...
The really scary part is that both of the handguns have threaded barrels! At least we don't have to worry about getting killed by them since they're illegal in NY.
"This lower toll will save daily commuters nearly $1,500 annually, and that kind of money makes a big difference for our families," Hochul said.
How about no toll and commuters can save all of it? That sounds like it will 'make a big difference'.
Here's the other issue:
"The Peekskill buyback resulted in 103 guns being turned in, including nine assault weapons, 68 handguns, and 19 long guns."
9 'assault weapons' + 68 handguns + 19 long guns = 96
Someone can't count, 7 are missing, or there's another classification that I'm unaware of.
I saw a clip of Hochul stating that she would protect New Yorkers from Trump's agenda. She should check out NY's voting map before making statements like that. Presidential election, as of right now:
I don't have a problem with jaywalking, I have a problem with people holding up traffic. If there are no cars coming, feel free to cross the street wherever you want. My problem is when people cross the street causing traffic to stop with no regard to the 5000 lb hunk of metal heading toward...
Thank God they're prioritizing the military's tasks. They could have been running a mission dropping supplies to the storm destroyed citizens- also located in the southeast.
"...one of the most egregious misconduct cases in the CIA’s history."
I'm sure there are worse cases of misconduct in the CIA's history. This one just got caught.
Ironically, I received a letter from Lackawanna County that I need to renew my PA license. You can mail them the included application and photo copies of your driver license and NY permit, but the letter says they will call me for an appointment.
They didn't pass it when they had the chance. Even if 75% of congress and the senate are republican, and there's a republican president, they still won't pass it.
Here's why she wants it to be a 'mass shooting'. From the article:
"She said she hopes to persuade the state to persuade the federal government to designate the Maplewood incident as a mass shooting despite the definition, thereby letting local responding agencies get paid faster."
It's all...
If 'freedom means banning', we should feel blessed to be so free with everything in our daily lives.
No burden of having to deal with plastic bags.
Gas cans that barely work.
No styrofoam takeout containers.
The list goes on.
I used to boat on Skaneateles Lake when Clinton was in office. Every time he was in town, we could only get signal from one satellite, which couldn't give you position.
This hasn't actually passed yet. Any politician who supports this doesn't take care of their own property. I do have battery powered tools where appropriate, but the number and size of lawns that I take care of can't be done without a gas or diesel mower.
From the link in the article:
NY...
"In February 2024 Judicial Watch received 269 pages of records related to incidents of aggression by Commander, including at least 23 biting incidents."
How many times would your dog have to bite someone before you were forced to put it down?

This takes me back to when you could make it all the way home with takeout food without the chicken wings leaking through the container. Ah, the good old days.
"In recent years machine gun conversion devices---which can transform an ordinary pistol into an automatic weapon by allowing it to fire as many as 15 rounds in under two seconds---have proliferated across the country."
Well in NY they can only fire 10 in less than 2 seconds.
This is why I voted 'NO' on the proposal that 'everyone has the right to clean air and water'. I knew there was going to be something bad following right after it passed.
Here's an interesting article regarding Mexico:

If the numbers are true, it's probably because they finally arrested (and jailed) the small number of dirtbags who were committing the bulk of the crimes. Nothing to do with the effort, just a coincidence.
The high cost of everything makes me forget how good the economy is doing. It's an article like this that reminds me that everything is SO GOOD that every able bodied person is employed and we still have more jobs to fill...
'Police said additional charges are expected and the investigation is continuing into how he acquired the weapons.'
This should be pretty easy. He's required to have a handgun permit, all his handguns should be on his permit and in the NYSP database, and EVERY gun sold in NY requires a...
'The men were arraigned before the Town of Greenburgh Court where they were released on their own recognizance. They are to reappear on May 7, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.'
I wonder if they showed up.
Oops!
I apologize if someone already posted this. I didn't see it.

"Earlier in the day a student walkout took place at Buffalo State University which was peaceful, calling for a ceasefire and for SUNY to divest any interest that they may have with Israel."
First of all, what interest would a SUNY school have with Israel? Secondly, 'that they may have' means...
