    No the stock isn’t sanded, I’ve seen a few from the same year on gunbroker and in the shop this one came from, all with the same tone to the wood. This rifle is a fazakerley with serial starting in UF55.

    Looks like someone else already answered with accu wedge. There’s also a way to drill through the space above where the grip attaches, thread a set screw into the hole to press against the rear pin area of the upper.
