not a lot of experience with the Ruger just a couple of mags through 1 that a friend has my victory is dead stock so it's not a good comparison but I wouldn't trade the smith for 1
just a thought on prices seems to me the Ruger is cheaper because the demand is not as high as the Smith doesn't mean 1 is better than the other it just means 1 is more desirable than the other
problem with aluminum is that it flexs cast iron is much more rigid i don't think you could break an aluminum press but at this stage of my life I'm all about precision not saving a lot of money how do you like the hornady?
not to nock Lee but they seem to be pretty much entry level 2 friends and a brother in law had them and pretty much moved on but I will look at them as well thanks I've some what forgotten about them
had a rock chucker back in the day are they still cast iron or are they cast aluminum now
so it's been about 20 years since I've done any reloading and now I'm about to start again need some recommendations for a press in my day it was all about rcbs but now i understand that they are cast in china and are aluminum and not iron any thoughts on the forester or redding i used to use...
looking for recommendations for a 22lr bore guide I have a tipton guide works well on everything except my CZ 455 haven't tried it on my new Tikka TX1 but I'm anticipating it won't be much good on that as well
mainly because I like to. shooting 22lr at long range is a challenge it will definitely teach you how to dope the wind who cares about drop it's way too over rated it's a known number so you hold for it people seem to dwell on drop and buy cartridges that don't drop as much as others to me drop...
need to buy a scope for a Tikka tx1 narrowed it down to a Leupold VX freedom 6-18 or a Burris rt 5-25 or the rt 3-15 reallyb likenthe Leupold but the parralax is minimal at 60 yds, don't have any bexperience with Burris but I do with Stiener and I belive that some how the two are related pretty...
Looking for suggestions for a new leather holster for my Sig leaning toward a Desantis speed scabbard tried a Galco it wasn't working for me which is sorta strange as I"ve owned and still own Galco's and they where all pretty good anyone have anything to say about 1791
I've owned a few Vortex scopes good value for the buck much prefer Leopold to them but my go to scope in recent years is Stiener bit hard to find under a grand but it can be done low light visibility is unbelievable
Far King are you originally from Oneida county? I went to high school in Utica the old UFA my uncle who I lived with at the time was a carpenter at the air base in Rome
i think you and i agree more than we disagree i don't understand the beef it is what it is we all lament the beautiful bluing on older rifles and pistols but the new finishes are so much more durable and rust proof i come from a long line of carpenters and builders as a matter of fact some are...
can't argue with the quality but the actual strength for building hasn't been compromised back in the 70's when the ny building code went from 2x4 to 2x6 framing it wasn't for strength it was to get more insulation in the exterior walls just after the the second world war they bbuilt a whole lot...
don't know what the fuss is lumber has been what it is for years don't know of any house's falling down because 2X4 's aren't 2X4's code calls for 2X6's anyway so what's the beef
