I very carefully removed the threads on this one. It's not the best job ever, but I paid special attention to not harm the crown. I then coated the exposed steel.
If someone wants to, they can replace the barrel and put whatever they like on the new barrels end.
Or you can slap this on a lower and you're fully compliant.
The weird nature is a reflection on the price. Just the receiver and handguards are $120 and $200 each. You can get this, replace the barrel, and still be ahead. It does have a fairly low round count. Probably 250 or less.
