I'd give it a try.
Yeah I was thinking an air rifle and pistol category added to the correct challenge format. @Nebowictz made the suggestion and it seems like a worthwhile one if there are enough people to make it a viable option.

I only asked because I recently moved back to NY so I am wading thru the pistol permit process but I have air pistols that I enjoy target shooting with. No feelings hurt here if the challenges stick to powder-burners only.
@Nebowictz No, it was a good idea. It may open up the participation rate for the challenges and that is a welcome advance. Welcome aboard!

I’ve used the mounts from buck-rail on my 1377. They clamp on the barrel and clock on the air tube so they don’t rotate.

I’ve since converted it back to the short barrel. What’s dangerous is that you can order parts direct from Crosman as long as you know the exact part numbers and it’s way cheaper than buying from a reseller.
Well it is official 10 yard air pistol and 25 yard air rifle are now categories. You can enter in the NOV-DEC challenge and potentially qualify for shooter of the year competition in Jan.

Beeman P17 for 10 yard target shooting. Single shot, trigger is long but smooth and light. A bit hard to cock. Accurate.
crosman 1377 multi pump for target shooting and squirrels under 15 yards. You can mod the heck out of them if you have fun doing that.
crosman vigilante - not as accurate but CO2 powered DA/SA that can shoot 177 pellets or BBs for cheap practice.
A bucket with rubber mulch makes an easy and cheap pellet trap.
Air guns can be VERY pellet sensitive especially if you start shooting beyond 10 yards. Crosman Premiere Hollow Points and Domes can be pretty decent and are cheap. Pointed pellets seem to do terrible for all my air guns. H&N and JSB seem to be the best. Favorite for target shooting is H&N Match Green which is also lead free so I can shoot them inside. Both the P17 and 1377 will hit a 1.5” gong every time rested at 20 yards with the H&N Greens.
