Ammo supply is spotty

AS a former NY resident, (now in SC), I follow the firearms community there. Several of my friends that still live in Cuomo land expressed their frustration with the ammo situation and the very limited number of suppliers willing to ship. At times the situation here is difficult also but seems to be improving. The local Bass Pro had Winchester 5.56, (150 round box), on the shelf for $76. On Monday I found brown box 9mm Remington for $11.99/ 50 round box. The store firearms manager said they are getting more ammo in on a steady basis and it doesn't seem to be flying off the shelves as fast. My gut feeling tells me less people are hoarding ammo and this is allowing supply to catch up.

I am about two hours from the Charleston area so not familiar with many shops there. Palmetto Armory has a retail store in North Charleston and one in Summerville, they are always worth a visit.

Although I have beaucoup ammo, I used to do a lot of shooting. Bullseye Traveling League, Home Bullseye league (Both .22 and Centerfire), PPC, Trap Leagues, and of course plinking, I am torn between slowing down my shooting or just stopping it. The Pandemic has stopped much of it but the leagues are starting back up now. PPC I reload my own. But as for plinking and the other leagues, I am decreasing my shooting. Something just feels different this time. For the first time in my life, I am playing out scenarios for fortifying my freaking home. Playing over in my mind if some ANTIFA BLM asshole approaches me at a restaurant or street corner demanding that I say, Black Lives Matter. I think we have a whole bunch of kids out there that are sensitive to WWII documentaries but think they will "respawn" if they are shot. I mean, you can't fix stupid and man there is more stupidity today than any time in the history of man.

One of my buddies told me he just happened upon some 9mm at Cabela's and it was just barely above regular price, like $13.99 for 50 rounds for what would have been $11.99 pre craziness. I called there to see if they had any and the lady scolded me like I had no idea there's a fucking ammo shortage going on. That's why I'm calling, you twit. Even when you go into stores to ask they give you that same condescending spiel. I let them have it if they're pricky. So annoying.

I was there the other day and nothing I was interested in was on the shelf. Ammo was bare!!

My Sportmans Warehouse just got a decent shipment in Monday, most I’ve saw in a while. 9mm in Blazer, Remington, Winchester and Federal. Some .223/5.56..Federal mostly. Minimags and a little other .22. Rio 00 buck.

All above my price range but it’s all gone now.

In better news, I scored 2@Federal 525 copper plated hollow point .22 ammo for $29.99 ea, and 4@ Federal American Eagle 5.56 20 ct. for $10.00 ea yesterday at Cabelas.
They had signs up saying "if less than 50 in a pack you can buy two, if more than 50 in a pack you can buy one". Thank goodness I had the father-in-law with me.

I've moved that truck a number of times while working at Tracker / Bass Pro. It is in pretty good shape . Does not have a motor or trans.

It’s an old rail road truck... I have pulled fully loaded milk trucks out of the ditch. I want to do a frame off restoration this winter. You can walk faster than that granny gear.
I sold the deuce coupe to fund the project. My insurance went down $500
