.577 Tyrannosaur.
Not a frying pan but the same result.
I am easy, I love both the 9mm as well as the 45ACP equally.
You better trade in that 9mm for a .357 sig then.The. 45 was a, "Bone Cracker!"
But, penetration trumps in my opinion. Not all shots are going to be against a body with no obstacles between it.
It's all a compromise. The .45 has minimum barrier penetration and the. 357 Sig has good barrier penetration at the cost of recoil, flash, and ammo availability. In a short 3 inch barrel for carry, all the negatives are even more pronounced with both calibers. You better trade in that 9mm for a .357 sig then.
True. The .45 will stay truer to the point of aim where as the 9mm will drop a few inches of the point of aim but still hit.now do the angled glass test, lighter faster will deflect more then heavier slower.
There is no perfect caliber, There are way to many environmental variables.
The short barrel might not penetrate all those floor boards like that Beretta did. Could be a huge issue. You better man up and carry a full size in case someone is attacking you behind numerous floor boards. It's all a compromise. I'm good with the 9mm right in the middle.

My Glock 26 with a 3.5 inch barrel pushes it out at about 1100 fps compared to the .45's 800 fps with a 5 inch barrel. The short barrel might not penetrate all those floor boards like that Beretta did. To me it proves that the 9mm performs better through barriers that shooters can take cover behind. This absolutely proves without a shadow of any doubt..... nothing.
You miss the point. A frying pan can be a storage shed or something of similar steel. It could be both sides of the trunk of a car. It could be a metal aisle divider in Walmart. It could be a number of things. An asbestos plank could be a wall, a thick wooden fence, or a small tree. This argument is dump, The day I see someone carrying iron skillets and asbestos as body armor I'm going to point and laugh. This argument had gone on for so long there are memes of it. View attachment 2696
Think of all the dead Germans if the Americans had 9mm's instead of 1911's and aimed for the head.Think of all the dead Germans that would have made it through ww2 if they only packed some frying pans or floor boards. Thank goodness they didn't have an internet connection in 1940's Germany.

I don't have a soul. The 45 isn't a show off round. Once it finds the soul and destroys it it stops. The 9 keeps going going because we know that it overcompensates for its small size.
