You are all gonna not like what I have to say but here it goes. I believe anyone who purchases a gun should have a background check. Background checks dont always work but I believe anyone who purchases a gun should have one being that it weeds out some of the crazies. This world, this country is filled up with wacko people, we shouldnt let anyone and everyone have a gun.
I have 3 AR's,,,I'm not looking for laws against any of the guns you should be able to keep. Though I do think there should be laws throughout the country that restrict certain individuals from being able to take part in acquiring them.
Like I said earlier,,,,the background check laws dont always work but they are better than nothing when it comes down to ghetto thugs straight out of prison, mentally ill patients that have a tendency towards violence or people that cant control their temper and beat their wives, children.

Nobody would argue with mentally ill people, criminal scum, spouse beaters, etc. not being able to own a firearm. The problem lies in the dirty details of how they actually deem someone mentally ill, a criminal, etc.. Most level headed gun owners don't trust the governing authority as far as they could throw them. That, and the fact they don't actually punish the real bad folks as they should by plea bargaining, slaps on the wrist, etc.. Herein lies the slippery slope and their real plan of disarming us. It's a vicious cycle that only leads down a path to nowhere but total submission. Quite the conundrum.

As the Doc said earlier, it's all about how they define "criminal", "violent", and "mentally ill." Like the term "assault weapon" their definitions tend to change fluidly.
