Looks good. Is that debris in the stem from you opening the cap earlier? The hollow stem should connect directly to the hollow cap, and there shouldn't be anything in the center.
That has all the indications of a Morel. Honeycomb cap exterior, hollow cap, hollow stem, stem joins to cap at bottom of cap - stem does not protrude into cap. Lookalikes (sometimes poisonous) may have a brain like appearance on the outside of the cap, but wont have the nice honeycomb this mushroom has. Also, there could be some cottony fibers in the stem, or the stem would run up inside the cap and connect to the cap at the top.
looks like a nice Morel .. good to go .. just be careful cutting it open .. just seen a photo from a hunting group , it had a cute little salamander in the hollow stem ..
Yup nice yellow Morel. We just had 10 black ones growing on the front lawn almost 2 weeks ago. The GF picked them 2 Fridays ago before the grand kids came over for the day.
Morels are not that common in our area but some areas they are very common.
