Anyone have G26 and 43 experience

been kicking this around for a while.
I have a 19 and my PPS has become my EDC 90% of the time. 10% 442.

Lots of articles out there for 26 v 43. Many lean towards 26. So what say you and why?

I like the thinness of the 43, but gravitate to the 26 all the time. Probably because of round count. If the 26 will fit your body, then its no question.

I love my 43, but have never shot a 26. If you want to try a 43 out we can arrange a range trip. I've been itching to get out anyways.

I don't have a 26 but found that adding the +3 Taran Tactical baseplates to my G43 mags makes the gun easier to handle with no difference in how I carry it. I like the G43 because you can carry it a lot of different ways depending on the season/clothing. With the extensions you get a better grip and 9 + 1 capacity. I have XXL hands too.

I did have to replace the G43 recoil spring and ejector to cure the "Brass to the face", once I did that it calmed down but Glock didn't win any brownie points by costing me an extra $50 to solve their quality control problem. (Yes first I shot 500 rounds and was definitely gripping it firmly.) If it wouldn't have cost me more than $50 to warranty it or swap it then I would have considered trying something else but in the end having consistency with my other home defense handgun (G19 w light) and experience with several other Glocks made me stick it out even though there are some appealing alternatives.

Whenever I try another brand of stryker plastic pistol I see some advantages to each one but not enough difference to clearly win out. But if I had started with something else then I'd probably feel the same way. I do know that if I actually had to shoot some bad guy I rather hand the cops a $500 plastic pistol than something fancier and more expensive....

Sure it's long enough I can properly grip it. As for looks it's a Glock so hanging a $50 piece of Taran improves it somewhat lol.

Not you're exact Question.

My two main carry pieces are a Ruger SR40C (a touch bigger than the G26) and a Kahr CM40 (A touch smaller than the G43). I carry the CM40 a lot more due to convenience. But now that it's chilly outside I can more easily carry the SR40C without having to dress around it. I never had to dress around the CM40, it worked with most of my outfits.

I would assume the G26 and Glock 43 would share a similar experience.

I would go with the 43 for ccw for sure if it were betwen tehe 26 and 43.

That being said i think the 19 would be the best winter carry (and you can get 15 in her if you dare). Colt pocketlite for summer pocket carry.

Matter of fact i would use the 19 over the 26 any day too.

I never had the 43 but did have the XDS 9mm which is about the same size as the 43.

In my experience, I handled the 26 better. The double stacked grip filled my hand better and I was able to control it more. The single stack had my groups going more low, left since I had to grip it harder to fill the space between my palms.

As far as concealing goes, the extra 1/4 inch in thickness of the 26's grip made no real difference in printing. Even in the summer when wearing just a t-shirt. When I wear a shirt and I tie, the 26 is easily concealed in an ankle holster. It's the grip length that matters rather than the slight thickness.

The extra rounds the 26 carries is a plus as well. I don't feel the least bit underarmed with 11 rounds and a spare 10. I would however feel restricted with just 7 and a spare of 6 for a total 13 vs 21 rounds.

The 26 would also accept your 19's 15 round magazines.

I think it's just a matter of weight, round count, and controllability between the 2. But other than that, the concealability is about the same.

I have a 26. Its a little bulky, but it is a glock. Still nice and small package. Double stack and ability to accept all other mags is a plus for me.

Wife has the 26 with some nice night sights on it, put a Streamlight TLR-6 laser light on it for her. She loves it, I like it too just a tad small in my hands.

I hated the glock trigger so I looke else where. I liked the fns compact 9, sig 320, and the Springfield xd. I went with the xd. There was no creep at all on the 320 and it was a very hard gun to find and $150.00 more. I
Like the xd, I like the trigger better, it's cheaper. Take a look at the xd it was $100 less than the glock and I feel it's built better and better looking.

The PPS and G43 are about the same... So no real advantage there, with a 26 it would likely fit the 19 holsters you already have.

About a quarter inch in thickness and 4 oz more in weight. Not worth losing capacity and magazine compatibility in my opinion.

I've concealed both in t-shirts and ankle holsters. Like I've said before, it's the grip length that matters for concealability not the thickness.

Well it's incremental. A G17 is only a little larger than a 19 and so on. You really have to try them and see how you feel shooting them. I find the 43, with the longer mag extension, to shoot pretty nicely and I can hold it solidly versus a stubby 26 that tends to rotate more in my hand.

Probably a heavier all-metal hammer gun would shoot even better, size for size, but the other attractive feature of Glocks is their simplicity and reliability.

This is true regarding an extended magazine. It is easier to grab on to.

26's have pinky extensions though.

I have both, I carry both , this gun came about over the whole pocket pistol craze over the last 5 years, I don't see a big enough difference between a 26 and a 43 to go out and purchase a 43 if you already own a 26 or a 27,

it seams silly to me to add a 2" exstention to the 43 to add more rounds and make it equal to the the 26 in round count ,and now what was only slightly thinner then the 26 becomes much larger then the 26. you mine as well should have started out with a 26 in the first place Now not to get into a caliber discussion. but the 42 (380) is a much smaller gun. Lastly if you have a Glock 17 or a 19 you can use there magazines as your reloads for a 26,even though they will stick out the bottom of the 26 they give you a better grip , I carry a flush mount magazine in my 26 and my reload magazine are full size G17 magazines .

As I said I have 1 26 and a 43 both create firearms but if you already own a 26 your not gaining much, the pictures above tell a good story of pistol size.

the only reason I purchased the 43 is I compete in Glock competitions and use it in a division called pocket pistol

and to add, the 43 is really not a typical size pocket pistol,too big, that being said but the time you stuff a 43 in a holster its the same size as a 26 in a holster. The difference is non detectable
