Anyone know which states sell ammunition to NY Residents?

I believe Connecticut Requires a permit for in person sales . But it's not that hard to get a non resident permit.

NY and CA: BG checks
CT, IL, MA, NJ: require some type of permission card (FOID, etc.)

The other 44 States of the Union don't give a fuck if you're a NY resident.

In Connecticut I'm pretty sure you need a pistol permit to buy any pistol caliber ammo. Although it's been a long time since I've purchased ammo in a store so I'm not 100% sure on that.

Connecticut state laws are more restrictive than most other states. In Connecticut, you cannot buy ammo without a handgun carry permit, gun sales permit, or long-gun/handgun eligibility certificate. Ammunition certificates are issued by the state's Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection.

The cool thing about buying ammunition in New Hampshire is the state owns the liquor stores and there is no tax on liquor. A bottle Balvenie 12 year old single malt Scotch is $90 here in NYS, $65 in New Hampshire.

If you're planning to do repeated purchases, CT isn't such a bad option. And although yes they're restrictive, they also have by law a limit on responding to your CCW non-resident permit app, which is 90 days! It sucks as an after thought because you want it now, and I'm not one for rules, lol. But call the CT State Police and ask for an app, if permitted in NY you'll get you're CCW within 90 days and as noted it includes the ability to purchase ammo. They do provide a separate Ammo Purchase permit, but why chump change it, go for the Brass Ring!
