That's stupid in my opinion. Also, I wouldn't forgive the poor trigger discipline either. The idea, regardless of age, is that it's a muscle memory act where you don't put your finger around triggers of firearms unless you're ready to shoot and fire. The same should apply for training and non firing firearms. Not because he's a 3rd grader or some dumb shit like that.

Trigger discipline is so ingrained in my head that I even do it with cordless drills. I even go so far as to put the "safety" on them as soon as I'm done pulling the trigger.
