Get on some of the printing message boards, those guys are insane. Some of it is goofy AF, and some truly John Browning innovative, but either way one has to appreciate the passion and skill that goes into it.

Is there now a legal issue with a personally made 80% or printed firearm if one makes it without the intent to sell or are these dog killers going after ones that have been sold?

Gangs get a bad reputation from criminal actions, and that's the angle Government uses to exterminate them, but when everything goes sideways, some of them will be invaluable as well as deadly...think about it a little bit.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong on this -at least partially. On a Federal level, I think it's still legal to finish off an 80% lower and make your own firearm. In NYS however, I'm understanding that the mere posession of an 80% receiver that is still at the 80% status is illegal, as is the mere posession of any gun made from one. They must be properly serialized to be legal in the State. Properly serialized of course means that the item has all the correct markings and has been declared to the ATF.
