Lots of magic wand waving here. No electric "military grade" vehicles exist that can even come close to competing with ICE. So they are going to develop, test and field in 7 years. Yeah OK.
I cant wait to see the plan on making a 60 ton tank electric, let alone heilos, jets, and ships.
I liked her remark about the volatility of global fossil fuels. Where does the colbalt and lithium come from? Are we now mining that here in the US?

I wonder how big, or how many electric motors have to be to move a fully loaded aircraft carrier. BTW, an aircraft carrier weighs in at close to a million pounds. 100,000 for the boat, add in the six thousand personnel, and about 32,000 per strike fighter, not to mention ordinance, fuel, repair parts, and all the other shit. that wouldn't even make out of the port before needing to be recharged, LOL Thats why they are powered by a nuclear reactor

If/when war breaks out and we send our troops into battle, I'm sure our enemies, china, russia, iran, etc. will be all electric too, right?

To play Devil's advocate: Nicholi Tesla had invented a way to transmit electricity, and it's said that enough electricity to supply the entire World can literally be pulled out of the atmosphere, but to date (unless it's skunk-works Top Secret) there's nothing viable in the pipe line. IF we could access all the power we need out of thin air, then electric vehicles might be viable in a combat situation, and likely for our enemy as well.
Once again, people that know nothing more about a particular subject that the bullshit talking points their staffers whisper in their ears are making decisions that effect people they believe themselves superior to.

It is funny because I was talking with a colleague today about electric vehicles, and we are a manufacturer of electric equipment and vehicles. One of our engineers referenced a study of just Germany, and if every car, truck and piece of equipment in Germany alone were switched to electric power they would need an additional 16 nuclear power plants to supply the power to run those vehicles. This includes the wind and solar they currently have. So what would it take to convert our country to electric?

I am not against electric vehicles as they have their place. The VP of my group has an XC40 electric and makes a 45-60 min commute to the office and never has an issue with running out of battery. That and it will pretty much make you feel like your organs are trying to exit your body when full acceleration is applied. He also figures it costs him about $3 in electric fees to travel both directions.
