Black Swan Event for 2024 (?) (Anyone else have that "feeling"?)

I keep hearing (coworkers, friends, etc) and watching/reading items out on the Internet that folks think there is going to be a Black Swan event to prevent the next election.

Summing up what I've heard/read:

1. Pandemic (biological)
2. War (civil/WWIII)
3. Food shortage (tsunamis/hurricanes/earthquakes/biological)

Anyone else have that "feeling"?

I'm leaning more towards 1 and 2... but I'm hoping that I'm just a worry wart... but it's strange more and more people around me have a "feeling" something's not right.

Hopefully we are all just tinfoil hat people.

Nah. They can just kill Trump on a second attempt and nothing will happening. No civil unrest, no worker strikes......nothing but I told you so comments on social media and websites. They, the Govt will simply come out and tell everyone STFU and sit down. That is exactly what we would do. :ROFL: :beer:

If nothing else I'd bet there's some folks taking notes what's going on in UK.

They already played the pandemic card, I don't think that will go the same way a second time around. I suppose that could be used to touch off civil unrest, but it would be less predictable. Again, if the UK is an example, the aim will be to punish the right, so it's the right they really need to agitate.

I doubt it'd be a global event and something that can be controlled and exploited in-country and any political backlash would be one-sided.

I'd lean towards civil unrest just shy of war. I don't think they'd go as far as civil war unless they were willing to cede this country over. Maybe also something they could use as an excuse to shut down or censor the internet.

Yes absolutely have that feeling. I have "that feeling" more today than at any point in the previous 8 years. It feels imminent and preordained.

If it's about preventing the election to remain in power, then I tend to think the goal would be to exert greater control not lose all control.

Going too far creates too much chaos and total loss of control.

Economic collapse will extend far beyond our borders and not necessarily reason enough to call off an election. We still held elections during the Great Depression. The effects would be too broad.

A grid down would also have a broad effect. In the short term, I think those on the right would fare better than those on the left. It would have to be a measured event. There is no point in ruling over a crumbling house.

After all the years of people, especially the younger part of the population, doing everything with the cell phone glued to their hand, they won't even know what to do.

That doesn't exclude all of the older set - we know a few people who are always saying "my whole life is on my phone" - pathetic. And, as one might expect they have the most recent, biggest, iPhone or Android phone. Of course, they think they got the phone "for free" by "changing plans".

Morons - amazing that some people can't tell when they're being butt-fucked.

We'll just break out some good old fashioned books printed on paper - wouldn't help the younger lot since most are, at best, semi-literate.

There will be nothing of any significance. Nothing that's going to keep people from living their normal lives. There's not going to be a civil war or major grid down event. Planet X will not collide with earth either.

Here's the thing: Yes, a LOT of people will do just that: Sit down and STFU, HOWEVER it's very likely there are those who would use such scenario as reason or excuse to unleash the Dogs of War.

They’ve tried everything at least once to see how far they can go. Before the election they will unleash their antifa, blm and whatever else they have to burn the major cities down. They will then blame this all on Pres Trump and the right so they can declare martial law and keep dems in power.

I have no problem with cell phones and the Internet going down. Growing up without it, I would greatly appreciate not having any of it.

we’ve become very reliant on systems with no redundancy. What made us strong decades ago (industry, manufacturing, work ethic) have been pushed outside of the Country due to unfair labor outside the Country and over bearing union and regulations.
