BREAKING: GOP Rep Mark Green Abruptly Announces Retirement From Congress Before End of Term, Leaving Republicans with Razor-Thin Majority​

After nearly 40 years of public service, Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) on Monday announced he will be retiring from Congress before the end of his term.
The House of Representatives is currently at 220 Republicans and 212 Democrats after three Dem lawmakers passed away this year.
In a statement released on Monday, Rep. Green said he will resign from Congress as soon as the House votes on President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill. The vote on Trump’s reconciliation package could occur in July or August.
Green said he is leaving Congress to take a job in the private sector.
