How bad is this state, the cops are doing a great job in this area ,Getting the bad guys and the guns and the DA want to know how and why they are doing it. These guys should be rewarded for there work not questioned.

Then they were all let go, because the cops didn't follow the rules you need to follow if you actually want the bad guys to stay in jail.
Sounds like a great plan.
And that's aside from the whole "screw the bill of rights" thing they had going on, and aside from the whole "charged with guns" thing being a problem on it's own.

It's people like him that are the problem. He has no problem with law enforcement abusing rights and let's them do it to criminals which leads to them doing it to everyone. Then it's too late. He's too dense to realize that soon he'll become the criminal. You know like when that cop illegally counted rounds in a magazine at a car stop and the victim was not even driving during the encounter in the passenger seat but thought it a good idea to let the officer know that he was armed anyway and produced a permit.
Remember that video where that cop forgot his body camera had a delay? He turned it off, planted drugs in the victim's property, turned it back on, made a show of finding it so that he can enter the premises without a warrant.
He thinks this is okay. And another on here does too.

When I was younger, naive and I had full trust in our government, I always thought it was okay if cops bent the rules to get bad guys because they knew they were bad. I trusted them on their oath and their instincts to do the right thing simply because I was of that General moral character myself and I wanted to be an officer of the law.
However, as I became older, wiser and less trustful of the government I realized that many people are not moral or just and they do not deserve our unquestioned trust. I also gained a better understanding of our rights, and how important it is that even suspected criminals are given their rights for the sake of following the rules evenly.
When we allow humans to bend the rules based on their own judgment for some people there's nothing stopping other people for bending the rules for their own corrupt judgment; so therefore, we can't allow anyone to bend the rules in order to try to preserve fairness for everyone.

I think the key word is "illegal". Whats wrong with that, he should be looking into any illegal activity that comes to his attention whether its graft or violating the rights of the citizenry, especially if it is being done by the very people being paid and sworn to uphold the constitution.

The Bronx DA’s office is as anti-cop as it comes. Total radical leftists. Why cops choose to work in the Bronx is beyond me. I’ll be at my friend’s trial starting Tuesday for shooting a woman who first approached him with a knife and then swung a bat at his head - a fact no one disputes. Fuck the Bronx. The DA is upset that the cops have figured out how to jail more criminals who happen to be minorities. That can’t stand, and must be illegal, so they release a vague statement in an attempt to change behavior which they know won’t end up beinf criminal.
The cops there need to learn to do the bare minimum required to not lose their jobs and ignore everything else. Period.

my statement is just a generalized statement. I am not making an assessment on whether the cops broke to the law to nail some dirtbags or not. just stating the importance of following the law for all the right reasons.

Brooklyn has a few solid bad cop cases going on right now if you want some legit “meat”. Anything from the Bronx is made up. Queens even has a 70’s-style bribery racket in the news that is movie worthy. Those are legit.

While I agree with your sentiments the constitution is the constitution. We want our 2a rights respected people have rights at least until they are criminals in my book. Do the job right or find a way to get it done right. You can’t take people’s rights away.

Right or wrong, when crime gets so bad you can't leave your home the public doesn't care how the bad guys/guns are taken off the streets. I saw this happen in Brooklyn in the 80s when crack was at it's peek and there were 2200 murders in a year. It's easy to sit in your small town low crime homes and demand rights for the poor people of the Bronx who's rights are being violated. The fact is, most of these people are animals that would cut your throat without even thinking about it. Not being able to keep them in jail is a problem but at least it's getting some of the guns away from people who should not have them. I'm all about gun rights but if you're a drug dealing felon you probably shouldn't have one.

Yea sorry I'm not sitting in a "low crime" area.
We have a shooting or more almost every week, thankfully not may actually connect with people, oh and I do believe my town is the ranked #1 for prescription opioid abuse in the whole U.S.

It's sickening how people here defend the trampling of rights because they are in high crime areas. What about the people that aren't criminals in high crime areas? You think the police that have no problem searching without warrants, probable cause, or what have you not do it to a non criminal in the area because you have a sticker on your car that says that you aren't one?
When I was home on leave from the Marines or just before (can't remember which because it was a long time ago) I had my car searched in the Bronx because it had tinted windows and a subwoofer. The 45th Precinct cop had me sit on the curb while he rifled through my car. I wasn't asked for consent to search it. I was just told to exit the vehicle. I sat on the curb while one cop did the searching and the other watched me.
At that time in my life I was young and didn't know any better. The Constitution was a foreign thing to me that I didn't really understand.
But according to people here it's okay because I'm a criminal too for being in a high crime area and it's okay.
I posted this incident in the other forum if anyone wants to look it up.

Well you are basically saying that it's okay to do in high crime areas and the non criminals need to just endure it for the greater good even if they don't like it to get the criminals in the area.
