Building your own "Other" firearm

Is this an "Un-Safe Act" option? $1800-$2000 and a waiting list is a bit steep for me right now. Any pointers to do this legally or is it a pipe dream?

An other is technically legal but good luck getting that through to a beat cop. They will say it’s an assault riffle and will be arrested IMO.

I also see these being legal for only a short period of time. It’s only worse semantics that make it legal at this point. Not worth it IMO and I’m not pursuing one on my end.

Also keep in mind you can’t take a firearm and make it an other since that is not legal.

You certainly can make one you just need the parts and the proper length barrel.

Legal, get a stripped lower assemble that with a brace at the end and the upper with with the length of 11.5 you can go shorter but you need an OAL greater than 26” and must have a VFG. Again legal but cops who don’t know the law or just don’t care will arrest you and you’ll have to go to court and fight it. I could see NY making it illegal pretty soon but grandfathering for a very short period of time. Some one correct me if I’m wrong but us the length OAL 26” or greater?

My Shockwave has stickers on the box warning that it cannot be fired from the shoulder. Not sure when/if something changed. It was meant in humor anyway. Unless someone is following you around watching you.

I have a Rem 870 TAC14 with arm brace. Although it is not designed to be fired from the shoulder the paper from the ATF that came with it says it can touch the shoulder occasionally.
