Illinois judge charged after gun is seen falling from jacket

I thought this was a joke, but also thought it was good he was charged. This should not be a law, but if I’d be charged he should be too.

A Cook County sheriff’s deputy who witnessed the incident notified superiors, who reviewed videotape. The sheriff’s office says Judge Claps has a concealed-carry permit but is not authorized to carry a gun at the courthouse.

He’s now been charged with possessing a weapon on a prohibited location, a misdemeanor. The sheriff`s office says the judge was very cooperative in its investigation.

Hopefully this will lead some judges to think twice before reaffirming gun control cases if it effects them too.

My only issue with the judge is they are the type of people who think nothing applies to them and they can’t be charged with crimes when they should know they can be.

Want is one thing, reality is another. They wouldn't think twice about handing down a conviction against one of us serfs. Wanting the judge to slide free is allowing the upper tier to do what we can't. Why strengthen their already inflated egos.

Until ALL allow us the same "privilege" they give take themselves, my stance remains. No judge should ever stand higher ground with laws than we do. There's way too much of that going on to feel different. I guarantee if I pulled that in the Broome County Courthouse I'd be facing loosing my permit, at the minimum. That's if I could get through the metal detectors, but you know judges have their very own unimpeded entrance.
