Now THIS could work, at least temporarily.
The courts aren't going to save us.....ever.
But, who will stop NY from making the purchase of a semi auto rifle near impossible? Training classes, ammo restrictions, mental health test, prohibited areas........sure, the courts will turn these restrictions over, one by one....over 48 years.
For many decades you could have a carry permit in NYC. Many millions of NYers applied. I believe there were 400 CARRY permits granted as of 2022.
In my opinion the ONLY quick and complete option would be Trump cutting off NYS funding. But that will absolutely, positively, 100% never happen.
Our only other 2 options are splitting the state, or voting in 2a friendly politicians.....neither of which will happen in our lifetimes I'm afraid.
