Czechpoint Vz58 Liberty

Hello all!

I’ve had my eye on a VZ58 for a while, and was thrilled to find that Czechpoint offers a Liberty model with a fixed mag. My LGS, however, balked at the wording of “not readily detachable magazine” and thinks the gun is not compliant. I don’t think they checked the method of compliance

The compliance parts are detailed in this video at the 1:26 mark.

My question is, is my LGS right? Did Czechpoint not go far enough to appease our glorious leader? If not, what should I do to get one? Is there a way to make sure I’m complying? If you can’t tell, i’m a bit new to the state.

From what it looks like with this mag pin installed it could not accept a mag the pin would block it . Remove the pin and a mag would fall out.

I know. It's always sold out. I hate to be thst guy but you probably arent going to ever find one for sale

From what I heard CZ has discontinued the VZ line when they started making the 805 BREN line

Not only that but pretty much any and all vz58 parts kits go directly to canada

I would say that it is acceptable just like all the others.
If you find one I’d make sure the FFl watches the video. They are probably thinking it’s an ar maglock style fixed mag that you can reassemble the gun and then insert a magazine and the magazine stays in. In this case the mag has to be fixed before closing the action. In the ar maglock design that’s not the case.
