Dem Operatives Continue Russian Election Conspiracy Theory Using Clinton’s CIA Supporter…
The concentric circles of Team Clinton sycophants can always be counted on to use every available avenue to avoid the reality of their own irrelevance. The latest exhibition comes today from Paul Begala, Mike Morell, and the Huffington Post trying to push the Russian Election Conspiracy Narrative.
You may have seen various MSM outlets pushing a storyline about a former CIA Director calling Russian interference into the 2016 election: “the political equivalent of 9-11“, or a similar headline.
The quote comes from an interview given by former “interim” CIA Head Mike Morell, and as you can see above, it was quickly dispatched by noted Clinton political operative Paul Begala.
However, what is intentionally not noted is the actual context of the quote – and, just like the obtuse Washington Post article the statement is built upon, the Morell deniability built into his statement. Going directly to the original source transcript (emphasis mine, IC = Intelligence Community):
[…] What was new in The Washington Post story, if its right—we still don’t know whether its right, and whether the rest of the IC agrees or not—but that the CIA believes the intent of the meddling was to help Mr. Trump and hurt Mrs. Clinton’s chances.
[…] A foreign government messing around in our elections is, I think, an existential threat to our way of life. To me, and this is to me not an overstatement, this is the political equivalent of 9/11. It is huge and the fact that it hasn’t gotten more attention from the Obama Administration, Congress, and the mainstream media, is just shocking to me. (link)
See what Morell did there? No-one knows if the Washington Post report is correct; no-one knows where this sourcing is derived from; no-one knows if the intelligence community agrees; but let me make a statement in the media, about another media report, “as if” it were…. or something.
Yet again – In essence, the politically biased MSM takes a politically manipulated original intelligence claim and pushes a political media angle within a manufactured story of their own creation.
