I saw the vid a few weeks back. It wasn't a bad injury. Some are insisting that he is still using trickery and there is a small explosive in the mouth guard and he's not shooting a real bullet at his face.

I'm all for illusionists that know what they are and let everyone know, like Penn and Teller.
Ones that peddle in playing on the idiocy of the American populace to further snake oil thinking, not so much.
His walking-around-town card tricks are amazing, even on camera. But I'd love to see one in person.

I am willing to bet that at least 25% (probably much higher) of his audience is hoping that "offing himself" or at least wounding himself is the result of his "magic" trick. Such is human nature and because of that nature, if you knew for certain that it would be a success, where would be the allure of such a trick!
Me personally, I could not care less if he breathes another breath to not. What I care about is the apparent wanton recklessness with which he uses a firearm and how that potentially plays against us as firearms owners making us look like dangerous fools since by having a firearm he is seen by many as among our ranks. Additionally, if you or I did that and placed it on YouTube, I am willing to bet that the authorities quite possibly would have us arrested and committed for observation.
Of course, I am none too sure he is actually having anything more than a wax bullet fired at him, nor am I convinced that the cup does not have a small charge in it that detonates to look as if hit by a bullet (but this time maybe too much of charge) and that no bullet at all is fired. That is, of course, just me giving him the benefit of the doubt as to whether or not he has any sense at all. If, on the other hand, he lacks any scintilla of good sense then maybe he really has a lot of potential for a Darwin award. Not wishing him ill, just saying he would be a total arsehat for doing such a trick with live ammunition even if loaded down to a weaker charge than normal and he is courting death; then again I truly doubt that and figure it a clever trick of smoke & illusion and nothing more.

I don't hate on blaine but I do find him annoying to watch because it seems many of the people watching seem to basically believe it is magic. Also his cool "this is no big deal I'm just gonna do this and watch you lose your mind and it's no big thang to me" shtick gets tiring.

Again, he's nothing more than an illusionist and entertainer. His job is to make his performance believable and realistic. Take it for what it's worth, entertainment. You're allowed to like it, or not. Those here that get offended by him or his act don't have to watch his performance. Wishing ill will or Darwinism is ridiculous.

I actually tried this trick once, but I used a piece of popcorn and i just threw it in the air and caught it in my mouth. a three year old was truly amazed. I actually had to repeat the trick, as the three year old looked skeptical.

Funny how people get up in arms about something without really knowing anything about it. Not to mention that this particular stunt, trick, illusion if you will, has Been performed all over the world for close to four centuries.
