EPA reportedly planning to announce significant limits on tailpipe emissions to boost electric vehicle adoption​

• The Environmental Protection Agency is reportedly preparing to announce significant limits on tailpipe emissions this week.
• The new limits would require as much as 67% of new vehicles sold in the U.S. by 2032 to be all-electric cars.

“As directed by the President in an executive order, the EPA is developing new standards that will seize on this historic progress to accelerate the transition to a zero-emissions transportation future, protecting people and the planet,” an EPA spokesperson told CNBC in a statement. “Once the interagency review process is completed, the proposals will be signed, published in the Federal Register, and made available for public review and comment.”

The spokesperson declined to provide specific details about the regulations.

Gotta love when a government organization just makes rules and regulations without a law being passed. No different than the FDA, ATF, and every other government entity. It is time to go back to an act of Congress and the signature of a President for ALL laws. If that would overwhelm the legislative process, then maybe our government is too damn big!

Gotta love when a government organization just makes rules and regulations without a law being passed. No different than the FDA, ATF, and every other government entity. It is time to go back to an act of Congress and the signature of a President for ALL laws. If that would overwhelm the legislative process, then maybe our government is too damn big!

All by design. Congress creates these agencies, approves their budgets and does nothing when they exceed their authority. Congress doesn't want more responsibility - they want LESS! They are perfectly happy to have agencies make rules and then use that as an election topic. Of course, they won't actually do anything like introduce legislation that curbs the agencies powers but they'll certainly take campaign contributions from rubes who think they will!

Our system is broken. Our founding fathers showed us what needs to be done.

Some rules are ok to make sure unsafe or crazy poluting stuff is off the roads.
The problem is when big Government puts unreasonable regulations to push for idealistic agendas based on yet to be proven global energy solution theories.

It's not about emissions, or going "green" it's about curtailing Freedom of movement, the rollout sounds great, the reality of time, distance, and cost makes it very unappealing... I'll just bet the manufactures are hedging their bets on going full tilt production as the next Administration could literally pull the plug.
