As is stunningly obvious - and demonstrated by countless AR owners who leave their rifles unsupervised for periods of time - guns don't fire themselves. Yes - he lied his ass off. He's a far left liberal who would have the 2A abolished and believes only the Police, The Government, and he and his personal bodyguards should have guns - and is on record many, many times for spewing his rhetoric. His automatic, default position would have been one of obfuscation, confusion, contradiction, and dissembling - claiming his innocence and how he'd "NEVER" handle a firearm unsafely. What genuinely sucks for Baldwin (yes - really) is that he should never have been in that position to begin with. Modern movies have guns. Love stories, children's movies, comedies, thrillers - they ALL HAVE GUNS. In the movies, you point guns at people, you can't fake it. The guns aren't supposed to fire real bullets, and millions of rounds of "gunfire" are captured on camera every year with no one actually getting shot. Every movie set has a prop master responsible for the guns, and this one totally fucked it up. I would hope that the actor would have the good sense to double check the "prop" gun, but that might even be going too far since the variety of weapons that go through the actors hands these days would require they practically be combat weapons masters just to know how they all function. Point being, when an actor with the Hollywood reputation that Baldwin has shows up, the production crew is pretty much expected to be top tier. Be honest - if you had decades of experience in acting (NOT SHOOTING GUNS IN REAL LIFE) and had been handed a pistol - hundreds of times - to use in a scene by the prop crew, do you really think you'd question it? Do you question your IT department when they issue you a thumb drive as to whether or not it has a Trojan embedded in it? Keanu Reeves might actually do so, but reportedly he's a 3-Gun competitor and has the experience to question things. Don't get your undies in a wad, I'm not giving Baldwin an out or an excuse, but I am saying that guns in movies are so commonplace that they have become just another piece of the scenery and someone who likely rarely shoots in real life "just knows" it's a prop and not something to worry about. I know that sounds wrong to any of you that shoot and hunt, but how many Hollywood liberals do you think have? Hell, most probably couldn't even load a gun without having to study it for 10 minutes. We hear and remind ourselves of the cardinal rules all the time - they likely have never even heard them.

Point being - Baldwin is guilty of involuntary manslaughter. He's also guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice. He's definitely guilty of being an opinionated, hypocritical asshole, but can't be convicted of that, unfortunately.

Now - throw in the trafficking / assassination theory? Interesting - but does anyone think Baldwin has the balls to actually put his own life and livelihood at risk, even with a threat from the Clintons? I think he's too big of a gutless coward. Could it have been a set-up? Weirder things have happened.

That is the real question: The Person in charge of Props and a second person should have verified the gun and ammunition when issued.
I don't like Baldwin as a person, however when you're doing Film/acting/Stage/Theater there has to be an expectation that the scene has been made safe, after all it's not "real life", and if you're doing a shoot-out, then you're going to be shooting at people you really don't intend on killing.
IF Baldwin held the trigger back while "fanning" the Hammer on a quick draw, then yes it would have gone off without "pulling the trigger".
I hadn't heard the woman killed was working on child trafficking but if so, she'd have a target pasted right on... give the depravity, heniousness and exposure to the World of someone involved in child trafficking, I can see where any lengths, including calculated murder would be used to hide the crimes.

Of course he pulled the trigger and that is undeniable but here are a couple of details that l think are important.
The first thing is that gun was not supposed to be fired in the scene that was being filmed , so Baldwin fucked up and that one is on him . How a live round was in the guns cylinder is another discussion.
Now what really strikes me is how Baldwin has not once owned any of his actions. He denied ever pulling the trigger, the gun just “went off “ by itself.
This is so telling to me, the man is of extremely weak character and will lie and deceive to save is own stinkin skin.
If he had any integrity he would have admitted he pulled the trigger by accident but had not loaded a lethal round in the prop gun which was the armorers responsibility .
